MUSICAL THEATRE SUMMER SCHOOL

Recommended Posts

We are proud to announce that we will be holding another fun and inspiring Summer School this year, at South London Dance Studios, Herne Hill.

We are running two different courses, so please read below for more information and to discover which option would suit your child best!

Disney Course for children 3-5 years

Daily 10.00am-11.15am

?50 for the week

Due to the success of our Disney Workshop over the last few years, we are pleased to inform you that we will be hosting another one this year - with different songs and dances from popular Disney movies, such as ?Frozen?, ?The Lion King?, ?Tangled?, and more!!

The sessions will start with a warm up for voice and body, then we will venture into a fun and fantastic world of storytelling through

song and dance. As we learn the songs and dances by some of their favourite characters, the children will explore music and dance from the perspective of the performer.

Musical Theatre Courses for children 5 years + (children will be split into age appropriate groups)

Daily 11.30-4.00pm (including a supervised lunch break in Brockwell Park, weather permitting)

?150 for the week

The younger group will learn songs, dances and acting extracts from musicals, such as ?Matilda?, ?Billy Elliot? and ?Bugsy Malone?.

The older group will work on extracts from up to date musicals, ?Newsies?, ?The Young Frankenstein? and ?The Greatest Showman?. Both groups will work together on the opening and closing numbers from ?Hairspray? and ?Seussical?.

The afternoon of Friday 3rd August will be ?Show Day? where we will invite parents/guardians, friends and family to come and watch a little performance of some of the things the children have learned during the week.

Please contact: [email protected] asap for more information or to sign up. Please do not contact the SLDS school office, thank you.

Places are limited and available on a ?first come first served? basis so please book early to guarantee your child?s place.

We look forward to hearing from you very soon!

    • It's a few years since I last grappled with a Windows installation, but I don't recall ever having done any apparent harm by using a Windows installation or recovery drive for repair purposes, and it can be effective.  Reinstalling the boot manager software shouldn't be a big or precarious deal for it.  It's already identified the problem and knows how to repair itself.
    • But has it been established that poor sewerage infrastructure can be a cause of flooding, for which legal responsibility could then be rightly attributed to a water company?
    • They're not. But the work to build bunds which hold significant amounts of water in Dulwich and more recently Peckham Rye parks, was undertaken to mitigate the impacts of poor drainage and sewerage infrastructure (which was under invested in for years) causing flooding to properties. The latter is (as I understand it) the responsibility of the water companies. I believe taxpayers have paid for the underinvestment in infrastructure by the water companies in two ways; firstly, by paying to have the changes made to the parks (I never got a clear answer from Renata on this forum when I asked, but think this is the case); and secondly through the loss of amenity those schemes inevitably create when those parks are waterlogged through the winter months. As I said, privatised profits, socialised costs.
