Rob tolfts
Hi All.My brother has suggested a daytrip to Leeds castle & we're just thinking about easiest routes to get there. It looks like driving is fastest, but we'd have to hire a second car & sort child seats, which seems a bit of an effort. As far as I can see, you can get a train from Bromley South, but being near the Camberwell old cemetery, we'd probably need to go P13 to West Dulwich, then train to Bromley South. Is there an easier way to get there? We'll be 5 adults & 3 children from 6 months to 8 years.ThanksRob Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/193309-best-route-to-leeds-castle/ Share on other sites
Howl
Wouldn?t it be easier going from Peckham rye or Nunhead, both of which run services to Bromley south? The p13 takes ages to get to West D doesn?t it? Renata Hamvas
I agree with Howl, depending on where near the cemetery you are, either P12 to Nunhead Station or 63/363 to Peckham Rye would probably work best. The train takes 12 minutes from Nunhead to Bromley South and you'd need to change to catch a train to Bearsted. There are buses from there to Leeds Castle.Renata Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/193309-best-route-to-leeds-castle/#findComment-1250668 Share on other sites
Rob tolfts
Thanks both!I hadn't thought of going that way. Peckham rye will definitely be easier! Howl
In case you haven?t been before...It?s a bit of a hike (and pricey unless you go 2 or 3 times a year) but we had some really good days out there. The playground is amazing. And make sure you catch one of the falconry displays.Have fun!
