Nunhead Matt
Hi,We've notice a marked rise in the number of house flies barging into our abode and generally making a nuisance of themselves. We like to think we keep the place pretty clean, so I'm assuming it's just the time of year and 'one of those things'. Is anyone else playing reluctant host to these blighters and has anyone got any tips on what to do about getting shot of them. I've spent the past couple of nights hunting with a can of Raid, and while this was initially strangely enjoyable, the novelty has worn off. Any general titbits about their life cycles and preferred habitats might also be useful, cheersMatt Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19295-house-flies-tips-for-getting-shot-of/ Share on other sites

Alan Medic
My son's bedroom in particular used to get loads of them. To allow him to keep at least one window opened we got this netting specifically for the purpose.Easy to attach and solved the problem. *Bob*
Load remaining corpses into boot of car (in dead of night) and dispose of - a wooded area in Surrey is best. Remove those forgotten, crunchy masturbatory tissues from down the side of teenage boy's bed.Make friends with spiders. KidKruger
"You can get 'cath kidston style' kitschy patterned type ones. "I'd rather not believe that's true, it's all too flashy for fly annihilation..It's a bit like gas chambers with nice tiling. DulwichFox
Could be a dead mouse in the loft or elsewhere has been host to fly larvae which have now hatched. Happend to me. Kept seeing more flys every day for about two weeks. Just have to keep doors/windows open until the eventually all leave. Nunhead Matt
A wood in Surrey sounds like far to much effort. I usually put my corpses behind the Customer Services desk at Sainsbury's where they never get noticed - except for the one who was promoted to checkout supervisor. Huguenot
Sure, or a few fly-eating chickens. In Peckham there's a stall claiming that they sell fly-eating chickens, but they bloody don't. You've got to get the flying ones. The ones with the guns and the frying pan.
