Yeah I know, I know. Ready meals are evil, especially when it's so easy to whip something up, blah blah blah.

Look, I love to cook, and wish I always had the time, but right now, I don't. Now a lot of ready meals are genuinely rotten, and I'd rather avoid.

I quite like the Tescos Finest Cottage Pie (with lots of added pepper).

Anyone got any favourites to recommend?

StraferJack need not reply ;-)

I forget what the range is called but Tesco do ones that have real looking and tasting food in them. I have tried two and they are definitely edible (which is all you can hope from a microwave meal). Think wagamama or similar in a plastic tub:

Sorry about the mobi link.

Its a fine topic!

Btw, Pickled onion (but not walkers, ugh). Sadly no-one else seems to do them anymore :(

Heh, no it is genuine, as I am finding that I often have no time in the evenings at the mo.

That said, those 2, and a couple of other forum food snobs did come to mind >:D<

Those Innocence things ae insanely expensive, as are the smoothies, which is a shame, as I have developed a bit of an addiction to the Kiwi & Lime one! Mmm, green drink.

I can reveal that Carnelli is quite partial to a family size M&S cottage pie washed down by a bottle of red wine when left to his own devices.

I, on the hand, rather like M&S's spinach and ricotta cannelloni.

Ah, if only there was an M&S nearby.....

550g is a strange pack size - presumably to serve two - standard ready meal for one is around 350-400g. Therefore not as unhealthy as those stats suggest.
