Hibley
OUR FIRST DONATION SESSION IS COMING!! We're a team of local parents and volunteers launching Little Village in Southwark, where there are over 8,000 children under 5 living in poverty - that's more than 1 in 3 in the borough. We might not be able to change everything, but the service Little Village provides could provide a real lifeline to families who are raising children in very challenging circumstances. Little Village collects great quality donations of clothes and kit for babies and children up to the age of 5 from local families and gets these out to other families in the area who need them but can't afford to buy them, via friendly weekly drop-in sessions. We want to make it as easy as possible for families to support each other in a way that's social, sustainable and local. Our doors will be open from 1pm - 4pm on Saturday 23rd June. Please bring your great quality items to Priory Court Tenants Hall SE15 (accessible via Reynolds Rd/Stuart Rd). All our items are gifts from one family to another, not handouts, so if you think that you'd happily pass your item(s) on to a friend, then we'd love to have them. Drop off, meet the team, find out what Little Village is all about and we'll fire up the tea urn! There might even be cake ;). Here is a list of items we'd really like, and a list of items we cannot accept. And don't worry if you can't make this session because we'll be doing it all over again in July, before our regular sessions start in the Autumn. Remember that if you'd like to donate a buggy and/or moses basket/cot/cot bed to us, you need to read the H & S guidance on our website first and ensure you have checked the items, see https://littlevillagehq.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Little-Village-Safety-standards.pdfThanks again for all your support so far, see you there!Tessa, Marie, Clare and Hannah Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/191988-little-village-southwark-opening-for-donations/ Share on other sites
