It's a puzzle how "Inspector Montalbano" manages to be very watchable while being utter rubbish (unlike "Wild Bill"). Formulaic, illogical, completely unbelievable. Yet enjoyable. And the books are obviously losing everything in their translations as they are even worse.

Rutger Hauer has passed away aged 75.

Without doubt this scene from Blade Runner is one of the most memorable in cinema history. Rutger Hauer helped to create Roy Batty?s death soliloquy.

?I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannh?user Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

The irony is that Rutger Hauer's unforgettable performance has trapped him in the amber of that cinematic moment. RIP.

Thank you, sorry, I couldn?t remember his name - he?s made some of my favourite music.

Malcolm Nash, sadly most famous for Gary Sobers six sixes in an over https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/49178748 but I was there when he took five wickets, with a hatrick, and then two more wickets successive wickets in a JPL match, taking five wickets for two runs. http://static.espncricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1970S/1975/ENG_LOCAL/SUNLG/WORCS_GLAM_SUNLG_07SEP1975.html A great fast bowler.

    • Hi Paddy, also really helpful and much appreciated. The post office service in Lordship Lane today was great and very straightforward but I may need a notary for other documents so thank you very much - I will look into it.
    • @DiD yes I have same issue having been a member for 10 years the refurb ruined my enjoyment of the gym and felt much more geared towards a macho or more heavy lifting clientele. Also the large reduction in the number of Xtrainers and having to wait to get on a machine made me look into other options-the 38% rise is crazy-10% would be palatable but 38% for substandard quality machines and classes that are impossible to book is a joke. I'm 65 and I've opted for a Gym called Energie in Forest Hill near Sainsburys. What sold me was that it was inexpensive, clean, packed with decent equipment and the staff are really helpful and give a good induction and are on hand to help if help is needed. Its not luxury I dont like the grey interior but having tried it with a neighbour a couple of times decided to join. The clientele is very mixed and I've seen quite a few older women (older than me!) training there. I would'nt classify it as a 'gym suitable for older women' but its definately very inclusive and I got no hard sell from them which I felt I got in Fit for.
    • Fit for on lordship lane is fab
    • Hi All, We are considering buying an ex-council flat at Champion Hill, where the leaseholder is Southwark Council. It’s a 3-bedroom property. I’m wondering what the typical service charges are in the area and how much the council has increased these costs in recent years.  Many thanks in advance for the comments.
