Nighty night Frankito on that very happy note where the taxpayers have secured your job and wealth...

For others, I shall start imparting my knowledge:

Super Rich: The Greed game a programme from the BBC.

Why do people have to get so nasty and personal?

If your argument is sound you don't need to resort to personal attacks.

Everyone has different opinions based primarily on their differing life experiences and instead of pointing fingers and blaming individuals for a system that is rotten, wouldn't it be better to try to explain your position and try to pursuade with your argument?

Yes you need to be up bright and early to do all that front running trades, plus high volume skimming. And lets not forget about drowning a Bag of kittens.

The Price of Fear

A new study shows people with brain damage that impaired their ability to experience emotions such as fear outperformed other people in an investment game.

The brain-damaged participants were more willing to take risks that yielded high payoffs.

They were less likely to react emotionally to losses.

They finished the game with 13% more money than other players.

So, fresh on the heels of calling these people liars, cheats, and fraudsters, you're now calling them brain damaged?

Then iamhere comes on and complains about name-calling?

What do you call hypocrites who have absolutely no sense of proportion, demonstrate delusional messiah complexes, make sweeping generalizations about groups of people, use fabricated quotes, deny evidence, indulge in self-reinforcing hysteria about the 'end times', and resolutely refuse to engage in meaningful debate?

Nutters? ;-)

Oppps, wrong again, Mr blah, Blah.

I have not called anyone brain damaged merely point to an article in the The Wall Street Journal.

Now, I do believe your captain has told you not to indulge me, naughty, naughty.

Now go stand in the corner, or sit on the naughty step.

Only someone with the petulance and egotism of a child could imagine they could get away with claiming that drawing attention to an article such as that one is not the same thing as calling bankers brain-damaged.

You sound like a twattish schoolboy trying to get away with an offence on a 'technicality'.

Regarding being 'told you not to indulge me', do you really you have a carte blanche to carry on behaving like a prat?

And here you go again talking with that potty mouth,

If you are going to talk down to people, then please expect the same in return.

Now go and have your juice-box and calm down.

To be fair Hugo, he was pointing out a piece of research that suggests top level bankers may have different brain make-ups than others.

There are many different types of personalties that are linked to many different brain compositions and it would seem to be self-evident that different types of people are attracted to or excel in different spheres.

I am not sure why you need to shoot the messenger when he was simply drawing attention to an interesting article which looks at research in this area.

Ha ha - if you really believe that LD, I'd be staggered.

To be fair - he intended nothing of the sort.

He used 'brain damage', not 'make-up'. He used the word 'brain damage' twice. What you're indulging in is called 'revisionism'. It's like getting caught stealing and claiming you were only 'borrowing'. ;-)

I'm fed up with this thread - I've not been able to summon enough enthusiasm to point out the very obvious failings in NNs and his / her supporter's arguments. Loz and Hugenot have held the line but it's time to close off this thread.

One final quotation from a recognised and reputable source - this thread was created by "a poor player - That struts and frets his hour upon the stage - And then is heard no more: it is a tale - Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, - Signifying nothing."

The great wizard knows my intent now ?he intended nothing of the sort.?

I did not say ?brain damaged?, I pointed to an article that spoke of brain damage. You really must pay attention. Please try and take time to go to said article and check for yourself.

Maybe an afternoon nap.

Are we doing quotes now?

You cannot, sir, take from me any thing that I will more willingly part withal: except my life.

    • Hi everyone, we are trying to finslise our decision for enrolling our son for 3+ from September and currently considering Dulwich Prep or Herne Hill. We like both and appreciate there is no right or wrong answer but what we like about HH is great focus on early years and also being coed. However if we can avoid the 7+ stress then prefer to do that. Dulwich Prep is closer but the difference is not significant. we know children are very active and busy in DP and they have great facilities, but unlike HH, we don’t know much about their focus on personal development and emotional intelligence, etc! Also not sure about long-term impact of being in boys only school. Difficult decision for us and we appreciate feedback from parents if you can share please.    thank you
    • Yeah that was their old policy. Their new policy is to force you to have a water meter and if you refuse they put you on a punitively high tariff which effectively forces you to have one. I was doing well with my policy of polite resistance which was to say yes fine I'll have one fitted but then not actually book an appointment or cancel the appointments they made. But then I was persuaded that it would be much cheaper anyway.
