Most intelligent beings get caught up in silly nonsense that annoys them. The people I was addressing are in no way less intelligent for my interjection (see loz admission above)

But you, my Irish chum, are looking for a squabble where there is none

They do not want intelligent discourse, only compliance.

I think Nexus has done a pretty good job of defending himself against some pretty personal and abusive attacks.

I don't understand why you feel that it is ok to call someone a nutter, just because their view of what is happening in the world does not accord with your own.

I'm feeling quite sick to be honest.

If you don't agree with Nexus, make an alternative argument, don't call him/her a nutter and throw personal insults.

The bottom line is that there is a massive imbalance between the US economy and the Chinese economy.

And in a capitalist society whether you sort the banking shit out or not, the fundamental problem is that to make a profit, the elite have to exploit the workers. They drive done wages to increase their profits and in turn this affects the amount of crap the workers can buy.

Therefore, even without the massive thefts by the banks, the whole system is bolluxed in anycase!

You are correct there is a great disparity between the US and China.

The US is in debt to China, approximately 5 trillion dollars, sooner or later China is going to want to cash in that IOU.

I think the euro will collapse first. People will run to the dollar, that being the leper with most fingers, this will be a temporary reprieve,

We are likely to be as poor as I was when I was 14in the near future.

Why do you think all the big corporations are buying up all the farmland all over the globe? I think it's because they want to go into bio fuels as the oil gets more and more expensive making the cost of food massive. Sod gold and diamonds, farmland is where it's at!

We should stop going on about the bankers, the collapse of the financial system is inevitable anyway, we need land reform before we all end up having to eat our neighbours!

Sorry, more bad news, take a look at Monsanto terminator seed technology, it?s been decimating the third world for a few years now.

The seed gen turns off after one harvest. You then have to buy more from Monsanto.

Monsanto are bastards of the highest order, but that wasn't the point I was attempting to make really, Nexus.

Just saying that on top of the collapse of the financial systems and possibly capitalism as a whole, there are the compounding features of the ecological crises.

LadyD,

It was because of your post a few pages ago that I gave NN a chance. I tried, I really did. But when you a faced with a random garbage generator with which any sort of intelligent debate is impossible, then I'm sorry, there is only so much I can take. When someone just churns out cut-n-paste information they don't really understand together with undergraduate level, mindless political sloganeering, there is just no conversation to be had.

Now I suspect that you are only defending him/her as their politics are - as far as can be established - reasonably aligned with your own. If a similarly reality-challenged poster came on and started hopping into immigration by cutting and pasting Daily Mail and BNP propaganda, I somehow doubt you would be so charitable. In fact I dare say the dread word 'nutter' just might emanate from your keyboard.

Nice try,

Placing intelligent discourse in the same posting as extremist views like ?Daily Mail and BNP propaganda? Guilt by association.

Very old school.

Did you ever do work for Mr. T Blair? WMD's = Iraq

Transferring information from your brain to a keyboard and thus end up on this forum, that?s not a form of copy and pasting is it.

I bet you think IQ is a level of intelligence.

Try as I may, I simply cannot think as slow as you.

I don't think I would have said nutter, but I may not have been very nice. Actually I don't get upset by offensive people as much as other people do, so I would have probably tried to explain why I thought they were wrong.

But I think Nexus has had a few drinks and was pretty unpleasant in his/her post above, which diminishes his/her argument too.

So. I'm off for a pint!

Alas you are looking for someone looking for a squabble. It isn't me.

    • I watched this BBC expose on the news a week or so ago and wasn’t surprised at what they found although ii’s shocking when you see what the Police uncover. The amount of nail bars in London appearing almost daily is also cause for concern. What I can’t understand is the places that were raided had thousands and thousands of pounds of unpaid gas, electric etc bills.
    • GPs are general practitioners, hence the name; they are not specialists.  Specialist doctors only work in hospitals.  Each GP surgery has a catchment area; you cannot just choose a GP because you think they are the best match for your health condition, you have to be in their catchment.  If you are not happy with the one you are currently with, ring round the others nearby and find an alternative who is able to take you.  Then, work with your hospital clinic and the GP together to maintain your health. As an aside, I have a chronic autoimmune condition and have had no problems with the shared care of my GP (The Gardens) and hospital consultant ( I am under Prof Heneghan).  I visit the clinic twice a year, they advise my GP of any changes and the GP does my prescriptions (which include a controlled drug) and my blood tests in between.  When there has been any queries about compatibility or suitability of a treatment, the GP contacts the team at Kings for advice.  The system works perfectly.   Good luck with your change of GP and give them any hospital letters when you sign up.  A GP along cannot manage your condition, so you will need to ask your hospital specialists to set up a new shared care agreement with your new GP (this has to be done this way; a GP cannot set that up).
