Recommended Posts

Hello All!

Just to say that if there is room i would love to join the Spring Babies club too! I have only been in the area since sept last year, so it would be lovely to get to know people.

My first is due on March 11th and we live in East Dulwich, having moved from hackney.

Hope all is well.

Thank you

Alex

HypnoBirthing

hello,

I'm afraid I can't join you with a bump but wanted to post a quick message in case any of you are interested learning HypnoBirthing techniques to make your pregnancy and birth easier, calmer and more comfortable.

I won't bore you with too many details now but please do contact me if you'd like to find out more. I always focus on teaching you how to make your birth positive, whatever route your baby takes and offer a range of classes to suit all budgets and availability .... short affordable Practical Workshop, Evening Classes, Private VIP course and even an online course for those wanting to keep costs down.

Next Practical Workshops are running on Sat 4th Feb and 2 evenings Mon 6th/13th Feb.

I can also run a Workshop / Course for a group of you at a convenient time / place if you're interested in this.

I'd love to tell you more, please just give me a call, (I could also briefly pop in on Wed evening but only if it's appropriate - I don't want to intrude!)

warm wishes, Kristin :)

Hi Kristin

Many thanks for getting in touch and for sharing your details, I am sure this will be of interest to a number of us.

I don?t think it would be appropriate to come along on Wednesday as we like to keep the meet-ups as social as possible ? it?s all about getting to know each other. However, if anyone is interested in exploring Hypo birthing, I am sure they will be in touch.

Thanks again

Jessica

Hi all

So I think we should just stick to The Actress, despite not being able to book. I really can't imagine it will be that busy on a Wednesday night and it's a good venue for quick food. I will also try to get there as early as possible to reserve seating for 20 - no one is going to mess with me!

If you need to reach me my mobile it's 07974 161217.

See you on the 1st at 7.30pm at The Acress, Crystal Palace Road.

Alex and Aysh: glad that you can make it tomorrow night, I have added you to the list.

On a separate note, I was thinking that maybe we could invite husbands/partners to one of our next meet-ups? We could get a private area in one of the pubs and do some drinks and nibbles. You might think it?s a terrible idea but thought i would throw it out there for discussion!!

Hi ladies

Im afriad I am going to be a no for tommorow evening as my mobility completely gone downhill and am still going to attempt to do my parents eve. Hopefully will be able to make another daytime meet if husband can drop me off but if not good luck to you all over the next few weeks. My section is scheduled 5 weeks today although after seeing my midwife and physio today it looks like they may have to bring things forward a week so at least not long to go.

Hello,

I may actually be able to pop along for a bit tomorrow night as well.

Our for my bday tonight and if husband stuck at work will be good to get out for a bit + the actress just up the road from me so will see what the day holds. Def a good idea to get husbands along at some point too.

Good luck surviving the parents' evening jenny!

Hi all,

Hope you feel better soon Jenny! Strange to think that many are getting close to their due date when I am not even 6 months pregnant yet (due date 17 May - long way to go)! And I've only recently got my bump.

I have been a no-show in the recent get-togethers but will try to make it tomorrow. Work is taking all my energy at the moment and just want the sofa when I get home.:-) But would be lovely to meet you all (even if it means missing out on One Born Every Minute - my hubbie will appreciate this!).

Hi all,

I am afraid I will not be able to make tomorrow night either. I am just in too much pain in the evenings after work so will need to give it a miss. Roll on maternity leave - not long now.

I hope you will all have a lovely time - welcome to the newbees- and I hope to see you on another meet up soon. Can not believe that very soon some of our bumps will be babies - gulp

Jenny - I have sent you a PM

    • The plans The developer Berkeley Homes have submitted a planning application to redevelop the Aylesham Centre close to the junction of Peckham High Street and Rye Lane, containing Morrison’s supermarket, car park, & petrol station, Aylesham shopping arcade and most of that side of Rye Lane between Hanover Park and Peckham High Street. The application is for a mixed housing, retail, leisure and commercial development, in buildings ranging from 5 to 20 storeys. Impact Local people who have studied the detailed plans think that the development would dominate the historic town centre which has evolved since the 18th century, and would ruin the Conservation Area which was awarded in 2011 'to preserve and enhance its character and appearance'. More than 65% of the homes to be built in this unimaginative over-bearing development will be unaffordable by most people who live in Southwark, and provide inadequate open and green space for this part of Peckham. Need for discussion This is such an important issue for south London that it needs wide discussion before the Council Planning Committee takes its decision (not before next Spring). A free on-line talk and discussion to clarify the heritage issues we all need to think about is being held on Monday 11th November 7-8.30pm. All will be welcome. Please register on this link: https://Defend-Peckhams-Heritage-2024.eventbrite.co.uk There are several other key issues raised by the plans which are being examined in the Aylesham Community Action (ACA) campaign. You can find the link to all that and other useful information here: www.linktr.ee/acapeckham The zoom session is being arranged by Peckham Heritage the local group that has grown from the community work alongside the restoration of nine historic buildings in Peckham High Street through the Townscape Heritage Initiative. We hope that EDF members who value local heritage will be able to attend the session to hear and take part in the discussion, and report back to this topic so the discussion can continue.
