My little boy has MC. He started with only two little 'spots' on his tummy, which have grown over the last 4 months or so. I was feeling ok about it being just literally two but somehow he's now got a whole bunch (15 or more) little white heads scattered on his tum + two on his arm + one on his leg. I'm worried he'll end up covered in them. I know there isn't a medicine for this but wondered if anyone had any experience with natural remedies or if it's just a lost cause and I need to relax about it.

Thank you

This is Mrs ed_Pete replying. Our son had terrible MC when he was about 3/4 (I thought it was chicken pox at first) It got so bad we were referred to Kings, but as you say there is nothing they can prescribe for it and we just had to live with it for a while. It eventually did go and he has lovely skin all over now. He is 13 and would be mortified if he knew that his mother is posting on the ed forum that he has perfect skin! Don't worry it will go. (well that was my experience anyway, hope that helps)

Hi, My daughter got this for about 9 months or maybe a year when she was 2 1/2, She got it in the swimming pool I think. The nursery started worrying about it, so I used a natural medicine called Colloidal Silver, it got worse after that, but then it got better, I think it brought everything out, but then healed quite quickly.

Good Luck

Thank you all. I really appreciate you taking the time to write back. I'll ignore them then, as it seems to be the consensus.

Sol - that was one of my worries. He'll start nursery in a couple of months and was wondering whether I should tell them about it or if it's not necessary since they are on his tummy (at least for now). It's probably a coincidence, but I think my boy also caught the virus in the swimming pool.

Again, thanks all.

Hi - I have recently seen a specialist dermatologist about my youngest's molluscum (eldest has also suffered from molluscum but has now cleared up on its own) It just seems to be getting worse and is not budging - He recommended a treatment called poxiderm and seems to be doing the trick! Hope this helps
Hi - both my two had it, quite badly, all over their torsos. My son had it for about 18 months in total (first spots appeared at about 15 months old - he marched into the GP in front of me, pulled up his top and rubbed his tummy saying "me spots!"). It didn't really bother them at all apart from my son's spots got infected a couple of times - once we got antibiotics for them. However, they do look particularly dreadful just before they go away. Apparently that's the body taking notice of them and starting to attack the virus properly. So, just to warn you, it will look hideous and the spots will weep/ooze probably just before they disappear. My daughter's spots were so bad for 2 days that they left little spots of blood on her white vests (not that she complained!) but then they totally disappeared within a week of that happening.

    • @NewWave that’s a good idea!! Someone cannot book well in advance to cancel regularly . They should monitor that.  Also I didn’t know you can book two weeks in advance. I was not aware of it. It’s even  more frustrating now because I used to book regularly without any problem a week  in advance and on the day. I regret it!  I shouldn’t have done it. Unfortunately no money back. I guess I can try the gym for some body weight training but don’t know how it works! Thank you for your feedback
    • Yes, probably, but I do like the one I have.
    • @Jellybeanz In response you know nothing about me I will not list all the charities I support (with regular donations) I simply feel there are ample inexpensive opportunities for small buisnesses to advertise their services.
    • @angehouse  I've found the same issue..its been the same for over 2 years now...every class I want to attend has a waitlist even 10days in advance and then a few hours before spaces magically become available by which point I've made other plans or do'nt have my gym stuff to hand and I'm not in the area (I don'nt lead a life where I can just sit at home and amble down to the gym as and when..theres only a few classes I can get to on my days off work) Its very very annoying. I'm sure its the same people that book well in advance then cancel..if only they could monitor the people who do this repeatedly and bar them from advance bookings for 6 weeks or something to teach them a lesson. For this reason I have'nt been to any classes at the gym for well over a year and just use the gym. Its frustrating.
