That's the dog kennel Hill adventure playground rather than Peckham rye.

When I spoke to the staff last year they werent hiring the space but you could set up a table/birthday space for your party (for free) - it just wouldn't be exclusive to you.

I sincerely hope the playground survives in the midst of the development around it, its a fantastic resource, with really great dedicated staff, for the local community but I fear lack/reduced funding from the LA may take its toll....

Hi HLW on Sunday the Adventure Playground tends to be used for SEN sessions. Kristy, I agree the adventure playground is a fantastic resource and we want to preserve it for local children. When we allocated our Cleaner, Greener Safer Funding, the Peckham Rye Ward Councillors awarded some funds to make some improvements to the playground once all the other works around it are finished. It has been tough with the cuts to our budget to ensure that important facilities such as these remain available for our younger residents. To let you know if you haven't noticed, there is a new playground where the playroom used to be near the cafe. This should be opening soon.

Thanks Renata,

Good to hear its been allocated funding for improvements. I do know of the new playground by the cafe and it certainly looks like it will be an awesome play space when it's finished. I hope the two playgrounds can co-exist goi g forward, they offer different things - not just in terms of equipment- the adventure playground has a youth club feel for older kids who arrend unaccompanied - such a rare resource these days.
