Bellenden Road gridlock - bridge replacement

That is a poor and lazy response from Network Rail. A temporary change from one way to two way on Lyndhurst with accompanying traffic lights to reduce likelihood of collision would make much more sense.

The shopping parade at the southern end of Bellenden is really rather pleasant with the much reduced traffic. Would be interested to hear whether traders find business is up or down overall during the closure.

Yes completely agree. Wish Bellenden Road was like this more often, rather than being a rat run for cars. Don?t know why the council don?t perastrianise the road to be honest.

I asked one of the business owners on Bellenden Rd and he said that business is noticeably down since the road closure.

He also said that he wasn't given any notice at all of the road closure.

The new bridge is on site, on the back of two heavy haulage trucks on Lyndhurst Grove. Surprised it hasn't been tagged already.

They were clearing out equipment yesterday so I presume it's close to finished. It's a shame really, Adys Rd has been nice and quiet while the work has been going on.

Someone has now dug the road up across the the Bellenden/Chadwick Junction

According to the signs it's due to finish today.
