jimmyraj
If you're renting, the landlord should be able to provide the rough date as it'll be on the deeds. I'd guess 1990s - fairly modern Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19112-help-what-age-is-this-building/#findComment-467213 Share on other sites

Vik
Welcome to the neighbourhood :)We live almost opposite and the are a fair few on here who live very close too. My husband grew up here and seems to think the building is late 80's early 90's. It used to be a chip shop pre-war but was bombed and remained undeveloped until this building went up, my husband used to play on the site as a child. If we work out a more exact year I'll get back to you. oquinn
Hey Vik,thanks for the help!Seems like 90's is going to be the most likely decade. Thanks again. Jeremy
Another Ivanhoe Rd resident here - welcome.I would have actually suggested the 1970s from the style and condition, but Vik's husband has been around here much longer than me.Looks like you'll have some new neighbours soon, as the house next door is currently being totally gutted/refurbished... oquinn
Hello!I experienced that refurbishment last week when I 'camped' in the flat for a couple of nights. Thankfully the builders don't seem to start till around 9 and are gone by 6.When I saw the building I did think 70's too, but as you said Vik's husband probably knows best.Cheers. I do love a bit of detective work :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19112-help-what-age-is-this-building/#findComment-467276 Share on other sites

Vik
I don't have a scanner here but have tried taking a photo of the photo, though not very clear. Obv. the photo may have been taken some time before the block was built. Will try to upload the photo. Salsaboy
One of the cars is a MK2 cortina, possibly a Vauxhall Victor next to it. Next to that a VW beetle. The yellow van is a Morris, I think. Not too sure about the other one though. Possibly an Austin Maxi? Mid 70's? ironjawcannon
we moved to Ivanhoe Road in 1981 and it was not there then, built during the 80's though I think. Contact the council planning it might help. Admittedly your landlord should know! peterstorm1985
Boring suggestion I know but the date is probably on the land registry record. Easily obtainable on the internet.
