Gas Works Friern Road

I am told they are closing off the Whole Lower Bit of Friern Road for the Gas works even though they dont need to. Not sure we are all going to park. I was told it is due to Health And Safety.

Does anyone know how long thios work is planned to take, seems to be going on for ever and so causing severe delays on Peckham Rye and up onto Forest Hill Road both ways?
