Having a garden tidy up and moving on some plants and seedlings that are surplus to requirements...

1. Echinops ritro ?1.50 each SORRY NOW GONE

These are in their second year. Put them in the ground and they'll reward you with tall stems of blue pom-pom flowers that will return year after year. One plant will produce many flowers. Loved by bees. They'll look great this year but next year once they've settled in they will be amazing!

2. Hostas ?2.50 each - RESERVED

Not sure of variety but maybe fortunei? Lovely springy green foliage and later in the years spikes of lilac flowers.

3. Eryngium Blue Hobbit - ?1 each - RESERVED

A short, compact type of erynigium / sea holly. Bright blue flowers. Front of the border / patio container type of plants.

4. Cobaea scandens 'purple' (cup and saucer plants) - ?1 each - RESERVED

Fabulous exotic looking sun-loving climber. Granted these little seedlings don't look so impressive now but once they get going the vines will rocket away over pergolas, walls and fences. The flowers/bracts are fab, the tendrils the plant uses to climb are cool and in a really mild winter the plant may live to see another year.

When you first plant it you may want to protect it from slugs/snails and give it a little sticky support. I'd hold off planting for a couple of weeks until things warm up (mid-May?).

The flowers can be 'floated' in a a shallow bowl if you like that sort of thing.

    • Great idea! Yes, I think the SE22 curry club died a death. The restaurants were all much of a muchness at the time anyway, apart from Ganapati. Nyge and I were also recently  discussing whether people would be interested if we restarted  the Forum Drinks. They used to be fun, but I think the main organiser moved out of the area, as did some others,  and nobody else was very keen on taking it on.  Unless they are still happening covertly 🤣 If memory serves they were monthly, and in a different pub each time. It was good to be able to meet people in real life who post on the forum. I might start a separate thread at some point to see if anyone would be interested.
    • Really?! No wonder they still had so many left when we passed! What were they? How much did they want for them?! That seems an extremely strange way of enticing people into a new shop!
    • I saw my GP at The Gardens on Wednesday, had blood tests yesterday at Tessa Jowell (not the surgery, the blood testing place)  and had a text from my GP surgery this afternoon with the results. Your experience sounds appalling.
    • Yes, The Gardens is excellent and often recommended on here!
