Can't help being a bit bitter (as it were) about the first goal coming from that corner when I think City got a bit disorganised as Barry ended up taking it, concentration didn't look like it was there anyway.

And much as I'd love to ban the lot of 'em that'd be a bit much. Track record though isn't there? Not least from last time we were there and in the opposite corner as Tevez left pitch (with Garrido iirc). Fancy us for the FA Cup now though!

I agree with you Sandperson- the majority are there for the football not the violence. Last night there were 100+ MC fans and about 10 MU in the pub (Only 1 MU was a Manc compared to ALL MC having Manc parentage/birth but I digress) There were only 2 idiots there last night, unfortunately Blues and they were asked to leave very quickly. Shame it was ANOTHER 91st min goal ;-P

Come on Dunne, avenge your old club !

It was a good game and as I was reading somewhere today, it's a compliment to City how seriously this tie was taken by United. I was disgusted with the coin and bottle throwing. Suprisingly there was one idiot in the pub I was in and he was United so it shows it takes all sorts. At least that winner was a bit closer to full time than the league game!
Sorry SP but Fergie said 2 days before Leeds he would take the FA Cup serious but fieled kids against us as it was a second rate trophy- he has lost so much face with his huge turnaround as he knows it's the only chance of silverware- not bitter as such, but some ref desicions were poor to say the least. Anyway, we have the FA Cup to go concentrate on now, you can have your second rate tin cup !

I'm not moaning about that though (him lining up a full team), take it as compliment to us. He even sacrificed Rio (who could/should have got a card for the arm on Tevez but that's another story.)

I'm quite sanguine about this. We've waited a long, long time. I'm enjoying the journey.

Tick tock..

Monkeyheid is mad to get rid of MacDonald. He is your best striker and I for one, will be glad to see him gone. The amount of chances your front two of Samaras and Costa-Fortune have missed in your last couple of games has been comical. MacDonald would have scored many of them.

Can only assume that Tony and him have had a falling out.

Him leaving will only assist us in our quest for title number 53.

BR, I'm not so sure it's our only chance of silverware but I do think as a manager you would have done the same. The result against Leeds meant that priorities changed, I would have thought being flexible and being willing to change your initial plans were good traits in a mamnger in business or sport.
Fergie would have always put a strong team out regardless of FA Cup results. Fergie is not Wenger; local rivalries rankle - remember how Fergie ranted last season over some trivial hand gesture by Benitez. This was also the reason he played a strong team (Rooney, Berbatov, Giggs, Valencia et al) against Leeds when in previous years against similar FA Cup opponents it has almost been a youth team.
Very true Matt. Although the FA cup team is usually stronger than the League Cup team. We got a scare last season from Liverpool and we've had a couple of big rivalry matches this year with Leeds and City (now that City are upping their game) and it's highlighted how important these types of matches can be.
Jah you are right about Gudjohnsson to Spurs. I always rated him at Chelsea. Not sure how he's done since then. He was a Barcelona and then onto Monaco. He did have a serious gambling problem. Not sure what it will mean for Keane as he seems a similar player?

With former Chelsea and Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen arriving on loan from Monaco on Thursday, the Ireland captain?s club future is increasingly uncertain and the Daily Mail reports today that he has been offered to both Spurs? London rivals West Ham United and Old Firm giants Celtic.

Both West Ham and Celtic are in the market for another striker before Monday?s transfer deadline but Keane?s salary at White Hart Lane is expected to be a major obstacle to any proposed move.

It is increasingly likely, then, that Keane may be allowed to leave on loan, with Spurs compelled to pay a large part of his wages for the duration of any deal.

    • A pretty awful incident.  Thankfully from my time in London fairly rare.  There was a time, particularly in North London in the 00s when moped gangs would come up behind cyclists and grab their bags.  There were also scare stories about riders being pushed off at the top of the hill and the bike grabbed, or cyclists being pushed into a canal such as the Grand Union.  I think these were very exaggerated. In recent times, cyclists, in particularly women, have been mugged, on cycle routes when other riders are not around, such as Deptford/Millwall  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm27x5klxxlo But I expect that crimes involving threats/violence by criminals against cyclists are less likely than in other areas of life.  Mobile phone theft being one of the obvious examples.  I was told many years ago following a burglary that criminals would rather not have any contact with their victims, and bike theft would sound to be less risky to them by stealing locked up bikes (far too common) rather than attacking the rider.  The spate of thefts from builders vans in broad daylight knocks this a little on the head, as the criminals are often confronted. @Rockets as a regular cyclist in the past did you experience threats etc?  My worse experiences were being knocked off by dangerous drivers, once being left for dead in a hit and run, and road rage where drivers chased me or threatened me after they had passed to close, turned across me etc.  You learn from this and do your best to avoid such conflict.
    • Whilst I am not sure if this is appropriate to this case, I know that often people from minority groups don't feel safe with the police and there have been many incidents where people from minority groups have been mistreated, beaten etc, just for being.
    • It certainly was😁 Bob S
