I still can't work out which was the worst choice of manager for West Ham Roeder or Grant. I think Zola just avoids, so it's a binary choice (although a few would bung BFS in the mix no doubt!).

Actually it's Roeder, for the position and strength of squad we had then*...Grant was just a bizzare choice when we were nearly bust

It's all relative Meds, your score merited a mid-table finish...alphabetically

maxxi is actually beating me in the EDF Fantasy League...no, I haven't worked that one out either ;-)

After lengthy negotiations*, calls to agents and putting 'arry on 'block', a roadmap for agreement has been brokered, and I can now confirm the format for the inaugural EDF Footy Predictor Champions League...

*a saucer of milk for next door's cats

All teams are cordially invited to enter and predict the scores for the home and away legs of the last 16 of the Champions League (matches played from Wed 13th Feb through to 13th March).

Predictions will be made weekly, 4 games per week, over 4 weeks.

The top 8 teams* will then qualify for the QF stage, where a randomly drawn knock-out system will begin, mirroring the Champions League all the way through to the May Final.

*If teams are level on points, e.g. 7th, 8th, 9th place, then the team(s) with the highest number of correct scores will go through.

If this is still equal, then I will toss a coin...

You will rue those ill-chosen words senor cuarenta por ciento!

@???? - I shouldn't worry about Saturday - BFS's excuses for the shitty away performances recently have been that 'home form' will see us through. Pah! If it don't and pretty bloody soon then I hope he waves bye-bye smartish.

Has anyone else noticed Joe Cole's lack of mobility? I think all those injuries have caught up with him. I'd love to see him get back to his best because he's a player I've always enjoyed watching but doesn't look half the player he was. He was non-existent in the "highlights" on MOTD last night.

Anyway, still no sign of Levy signing a striker before the deadline. Adebayor away on Africa Cup of Nations duty and looking like he doesn't care in a Spurs shirt now he's signed his contract and our only other recognised striker Defoe carrying a pelvic injury you'd think (hope) he'd pull his bloody finger out. We want the Brazilian Leandro Damiao but will probably end up with nothing... or bloody Peter Crouch again. Bah!

Need a big win this week

starting to look like West Ham and that is never good

QPR 1 Norwich 0

    • @ ed pete "there still has to be the demand". I don't know but wondering if developers have been able to make a case based on the increase in demand from 2023-2024. The research I looked at said demand had risen by 500 in that period,  but was still below an all time high in 2022.   There will be others who know much more about this area who can give the rationale in favour; perhaps this latest govt. research is incorrect or only gives part of the story. My point is if, as seems likely, this development does little to solve the current housing crisis at local level for the non student population, I hope that the council is very, very sure that this level of student accommodation is warranted at this location. I have not managed to look at the plans in detail but how sustainable are the plans for the build; how will it be heated, what about impact on water and waste services?
    • There is also I believe some evidence that students are choosing to go to universities, where they do, closer to home so as to avoid additional costs by living at home. Personally I think this is a mistake - being an undergraduate is a first chance for independence - but if economics and costs are making this so the demand for accommodation such as this will again be weakened.
    • A good plumber - Ade Okoosi. He came to do some plumbing for a new kitchen at a flat in Camberwell, sealed up a gas pipe and put in some taps and a thermostatic shower. On another occasion he rapidly removed a radiator. Would definitely use again.  Ade 07961981944
    • Interesting the projected demand.  One imagines that you don't undertake this kind of investment without the business case to back it up.  There's one going up near a friends office in the City that is for 782 students.  OK, these are much closer to HE establishments but there still has to be the demand. https://dominusrealestate.co.uk/projects/65crutchedfriars/
