Let's be fair you need a sense of humour to support Spuds, especially after the collapse at the end of the season and bearing in mind it was touted by many as being your best season for years and our was meant to be our worst for years. Mind the gap/sack (just for you 'arry)

So, it's official AVB is the new Spurs coach. I'd like to wish him all the very best and hope that the board, players and fans alike give him more time to work his ideas than he was allowed at Chelsea and hope and pray that he will bring great success to our club but if he starts doing all that squatting on his haunches in his dirty mac on the touchline I'll be the first to shout "sack him." COYS!
I wish him well. He was given a bum deal at Chelsea. I reckon his mandate to change them was suddenly reviewed when those highly paid footballers stopped playing. Amazing they could play after he left. I hope there are less big egos at Spurs and more openmindness to whatever his ideas are. Only time will tell. I am surprised by the appointment though. I'd have thought Martinez would have been perfect for Spurs. He after all got Swansea playing the way they do before Rogers came on the scene.

I know, the irony of that was lost on the 'pool supporters who were complaining that Martinez wasn't good enough for LFC...

Too early for me to start self-inflicting that kind of pain - I am now in cricket mode and shall remain so until August when I will probably start by ridiculing the chances of visiting Villa.

I imagine a lot of pool fans will watch with interest how AVB gets on, as he was constantly mentioned before Rogers was appointed. If Spurs do well, and Rogers struggles for an impact, will the fans start to tell the board they should have splashed out on the bigger name...

I too wish AVB luck, and hope he gets the respect of the dressing room!

Fifa world rankings - top 20

1. Spain 2. Germany 3. Uruguay 4. England 5. Portugal 6. Italy 7. Argentina 8. Netherlands 9. Croatia 10. Denmark 11. Brazil 12. Greece 13. Russia 14. France 15. Chile 16. Ivory Coast 17. Sweden 18. Czech Republic 19. Mexico 20. Japan

Selected others: 38. Wales 49. Scotland 102. Northern Ireland

What a bloody joke!

I heard on the radio this morning that the Glazers are floating $100 million worth of their Utd shares on the NYSE, about ?54m.

The money raised could be earmarked to reduce their debt or cover the cost of summer transfers, but more importantly for Utd fans it gives the club a realistic market value, and hopefully is a pre-cursor for the Glazers to sell up and ride the fook out of town...

The trouble with knockout competitions such as World Cup and the Euros, is that England mainly lose one big match every two years. Their record therefore looks very good in general.

Whatever way the world rankings work (and I don't know) I think they fail to give sufficient bonus points to countries that get to WC and Euro semis and finals, which in general England don't achieve.

To have England above Italy and Netherlands takes some doing. Therefore something is wrong in the logic somewhere.

But then its maybe not that different from Luke Donald and Lee Westwood being world golf number 1, having never won a major. Maybe we have to accept that this is how rankings work.

I you can't win the league in one place.............move country.

I just looked this league up as I was curious how it was possible for a team to win it and be relegated in the same season. I was a little surprised to see the table for the 2nd half of the season.

So as stressful as it may be just hold firm, deny everything, take down details and report to the police.
