I say, dear oh dear. I say again, dear oh dear. Call yourselves football fans? Pah. The last page of this thread seems to be just jealous rants about Chelsea, JT, and Drogba. Where is the celebration that a London club is in the CL final representing England? And the FA Cup final? Why are you not rooting for CFC? Whatever problems there may be or may be not at all clubs in terms of loyalty and pride and passion in playing for their country, as well as the odd dive and feign of injury, and bit of dirty play, I think you need to look at the mentality of the fan base gor all cclcubs and how they do not support eachother once their teams have been knocked out eg LFC, THFC, MUFC etc etc.

Please stop the envy and jealousy of Chelsea and their players and glorious victories and try to be better fans, and people.

Up the Blues.

Club football is not representing England.Chelsea are representing the extravanace of an A robber baron Oligarch and his ill gotten gains.Chelsea are funded by theft, embezzlement, corruption and intimidation.

Chelsea were violent tactless, nasty vermin of ill repute back in the '70s.Money aside, nothing has changed.

Never has a captain fitted in so well with the ethos of a club than Brave John Terry.

Bayern will win the CL, and Germany will win the Euros.

If you're talking about the fans fair enough (they weren't alone though) but if you mean the team then you are talking out of your proverbial. Chelsea weren't a good team but they were choirboys compared to Bremner and his thugs.

I thought Chelsea had a good team in that era i.e they won the cup in 1970 with this line out.

GK 1 Peter Bonetti

RB 2 Ron Harris ©

LB 3 Eddie McCreadie

CM 4 John Hollins

CB 5 John Dempsey

CB 6 David Webb

RM 7 Tommy Baldwin

CM 8 Charlie Cooke

CF 9 Peter Osgood 112'

CF 10 Ian Hutchinson

LM 11 Peter Houseman

Substitutes:

DF 12 Marvin Hinton 112'

Manager:

Dave Sexton

Chopper Harris was a bit of a thug. Alan Hudson was injured.

in 1970 okay but not "in that era" - woody was talking about the 70s not 1970 (their last decent side for over a decade) and in the 70s they were pretty rubbish - relegated in 75 to 77 and again in 79 (remember poor old Geoff Hurst trying to get them back into the top flight~?) - no, things didn't pick up for them until the master Bates came along in the early 80s.

Their fans were proper thugs though.

...even then they were crap, and playing to about 12,000. And, West Ham had as many thugs (and no doubt as many racists) but at least our firm wasn't largely Combat 18. Horrible lot then, horrible lot now, especially with all the Johhny Come lately's added to the nazis. Hate them - more than Spurs and the Wall but don't tell Jah ;-) I'll be cheering Bayern - uniqely as I have always supported the other English teams in the Champions League Final.

Me too, abosolutely no memory of anything before then...do you think it's because Webb's goal has often been shown, bit like Charlie George's winner a year later?...and not forgetting the 1970 World Cup, Gerd Muller's winner :(

Ahhhh Stoke. Home to the illustrious potters of Spode, Moorcroft et al, and bottom feeding effluent booing a player for having his leg broken by a thug. To reinforce their class they chant "Ryan Shawcross, he breaks what he wants". Yes Stoke, you should be hugely proud of yourselves.

Blimey, very well said.

Where are the Rangers fans today? I am here to claim my whisky PGC. Not an easy season for you

3-0 probably fair. Celtic were champions before today but showed their class.

Rangers I'm sure are feeling the weight of the off the field problems and today will not help but they will survive in some form or other I'm sure
