Jah Lush
Oh well after some reflection I feel everything is going to be all right for Spurs now as we can now concentrate on screwing things up in the league. Otta
LOL failure to finish in the top 4 would be a real blow for Spurs. I kind of want to see Newcastle get it, because I'm loving their play this season, but would definitely rather Spurs than Chelsea! Spurs' goal yesterday...had the referee given the penalty and sent Cech off, rather than playing advantage that led to the goal, it may have been a different outcome. Alan Medic
Don't understand why he couldn't have sent Cech off anyway. It was a sending off defence. Refs can go back and book players for foul play (it happened yesterday) after letting advantage go so why not here? Just because Spurs scored does not make it less of an offence.Ashley Young's diving was pathetic and I'm glad to see Fergie has at least commented on it. He doesn't like it. red devil
I agree Jah, and a lot of the credit should go to their chairman Dave Whelan...many others would've lost their nerve in January. If 'arry does get the England job, Martinez along with Brendan Rogers should be a candidate for Spurs manager, but if I was a Spurs fan I would want Moyes. I think after 10 years he will leave Everton this summer. Without investment I don't think he can take Everton any further...he cut a very deflated figure after the semi-final. Tanday
Would Moyes be able to deliver attacking football at Spurs though? He tends to set up his sides to stifle the opposition. That said, he doesnt have the same calibre of players to work with at Everton. bon3yard
Good point Tanday but if ever anyone has earned the right to try its Moyes. Its been a rollercoaster ride with 'Arry but without a smidgen of tactical nous applied when desperately needed hes been found out when it matters most. My beloved chickens have well and truly choked. Its the hope what gets you. ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/446/#findComment-538693 Share on other sites
Otta
That's the thing with 'arry. He's obviously great with the players, but has he really got it tactically? After a recent loss, he said something along the lines of "people say we play well like that, but for me, it doesn't work so well".So why did he play like that, because other people suggested it?!? That said, he doesnt have> the same calibre of players to work with at> Everton.Great sides, these days, are able to stifle the opposition as well as producing fluid attacking football. The problem with Moyes is that he hasn't got hardly any strikers. His latest forward acquisition from Rangers looks like a decent player though.I think Moyes got the FA cup semi-final tactically right since Liverpool's srike force couldn't really score in a Wayne Rooney brothel. However, the mistakes by Everton gave the Livepool strkers the confidence to score goals that won the game. Undisputedtruth
No, I shortened my sentence to signify a brothel used by Wayne Rooney. However, I did thought someone of a small minded nature may find the sentence as an issue. In this regard, you don't disappoint Otta! Otta
Sense of humour failure from UDT. What a surprise.Hats off to Chelsea, although Barca surely still favourites. Never know though, if they can nick an away goal...
