kpc
A favourite with the fans during his two years at St Andrews. Stunned to hear the news. Hope the news that is coming through that he is stable are accurate. Best wishes Fabrice. Otta
Absolutely. Horrible scenes, to see, and hope he comes through it.Not the first time a player has just keeled over, and it makes you wonder, is the modern game pushing players' bodies too hard? They are super fit, but is it walking a thin line?Get well! Jah Lush
I could have gone to White Hart Lane on Saturday but for some reason chose not to. Glad I didn't go now. Dreadful scenes. Really hope Muamba makes a full recovery. I'll be back there against Stoke City on Wednesday. Here's hoping and praying for a full and speedy recovery. Parkdrive
Great night of football, City turn over the Chavs, Spuds draw and the Arsenal win and go above them agftrr being 10 points behind. Mind the gap indeed. ;-) And where to start with Liverpool? I bet Hodgson is having a quiet chuckle to himself. And more importantly Fabrice Muamba is getting better, please god. Jah Lush
On my way back from the Lane. Gutted. 1-1 against Stoke just isn't good enough even if they did park the bus. Have to applaud the Arse and well done QPR. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/436/#findComment-532482 Share on other sites
maxxi
Judging by the cheer that greeted both ManC goals in The Actress tonight there are more City fans in ED than I ever realised - or more Chelsea/ManU haters. Undisputedtruth
The race to the premiership title and champions league places is getting exciting. Interesting to see if Spurs get fourth place over Chelsea and sets up nicely for their clash this weekend. Man City appears to have some fight in their belly and I'd expect the title race to go to the wire. He's back!!"). Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/436/#findComment-532633 Share on other sites
Otta
Rio Ferdinand claiming City fans have come out of the woodwork since they started having more success.I suspect he's right to an extent, but that is a bit bloody rich coming from a Man U player! Chippy Minton
I don't think City fans have come out of the woodwork at all - I still find them pretty rare in London in comparison to Utd fans. The worst I found for coming out of the woodwork were Chelsea fans when Abramovich brought the club. Suddenly the world and his dog were Chelsea fans. I also partly blame Tim Lovejoy for this as well ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/436/#findComment-532727 Share on other sites
Otta
Totally agree. When I said he was right to an extent, I meant that a lot more City fans are probably wearing their team shirts with pride in the City (ones who probably wouldn't have bought a shirt in the past). ????
I'm gonna stick up for City fans too. Every City fan I know/have known in London is from Manchester. Will obvioulsy start changing and I expect to see more City shirts around these 'ere parts over the next few years. red devil
Otta said...If that doesn't fit the profile of a 'glory hunter' I don't know what does ;-)To be fair, I think this applies to any club that has a degree of success, success of course being relative. I'm sure during and after their recent FA Cup exploits there were more Stevenage fans walking around the town centre in their club's shirt, sharing in the civic pride. ????'s is right to suspect there will be more Citeh shirts on view in the future, success = glory hunters, it's more to do with human nature rather than specific clubs. ????
Yup RD agree. Still know a few late 40 something Leeds and Everton fans from the Home Counties (rather than London) to illustrate. And Utd and Liverpool fans are all over London and the SE in all age ranges. Bizzarley met a West Ham fan Born and Bred in Altricham once.
