Yes really, in cases like this the prosecution evidence needs to be water tight, I don't think it was.

His public perceived 'dodgy geezer', therefore he must be guilty reputation, went before him, and will continue to do so despite the not guilty verdict...mud sticks.

Speaking of reputations, using the NOTW 'investigation' as evidence wasn't the brightest thing for the prosecution to do in the current climate.

What I'd like to know is where was this high profile figure who was going to turn Queen's evidence and spill the beans on the whole bung culture?..more internet gossiping fishwives nonsense, surely not?

Surely the millions of pounds on Harry's investigation and court case could have been better spent on investigating the likes of Barclays Bank, Vodafone, Boots, Tesco, etc for cheating public funds. The return of initial investments would yield billions instead of Redknapp's paltry thousands. Enough to half the UK deficit.

I'd like to see NOTW and the Police in the dock over the Harry Redknapp affair too.

It does put a smile on my face watching 'red devil' backtracking over the prosecution evidence.

Capello knows he has messed up (not in the Terry-captaincy issue but simply as a coach) and was looking for a way out so he would not be blamed when it goes tits up at the Euros. It's the managerial equivalent of a player going down in the box "looking for it".

Harry should stay where he is and not even consider England until after the Euros - appoint a caretaker manager for now (Brooking?) - He needs to start with a clean slate as England boss and start from scratch at the beginning of a campaign not try and clean up someone else's mess.

Did you say 'Harry Bunce!?' "Now look sunshine...!"

Irregardless of what anyone thinks of Terry (and my view of him is not something he could repeat to his mother) the FA left Capello with no choice. Either a manager is the manager or he isn't. The FA completely undermined Capello here. And let's not also forget that Capello is the highest paid international manager ever by far......which only leaves me with one word....'Chelsea' to illustrate where throwing money at the game gets you. Now we are less than 5 months away from an international tournament with no manager. If anyone was in doubt that the FA is run by f*ckwits before, they won't be now.

100% Agree FA run by total f*ckwits they are the biggest problem every England football team has to overcome.

It's quite obvious there was zero communication with the manager.

It?s a common problem among British ?high? level management just incredibly arrogant.

This country is going through an incredible period of misjudgement and incompetent decision making from Council child protection all the way up to the FA it?s an embarrassment.

But the press will paint is as a great situation.

We remain a country RUN by the pathetic British PRESS !!!!

The FA's tactics don't suggest incompotence or arrogance to me - it suggests a canny acknowledgement that the (plenty arrorgant himself) manager had lost the support of much of the team and country, and had made a rod for his own back with Terry on more than one occassion. By "going over his head", they set in place a chain of events which led to yesterday's resignation - something which saved them millions in compensation

They are now set fair to install a popular manager in plenty of time for Euro 2012. Capello is one of the richest managers in football regardless. What exactly is to get upset about, or start pointing fingers about the "state of the country"

As for innocent-until-proven-guilty - absolutely right and still applies here. terry isn't being banged up because of the accusations - he has been demoted from his captaincy.. Just as he was for the (less serious) allegations around the Wayne Bridge nonsense. Just as Woodgate and Bowyer were dropped when their assaults were unproven and alleged.

As a self-professed leader, Terry could have saved his manager and his team a lot of hassle by seeing the circus that would overshadow any footballing considerations, and stepped down to concentrate on clearing his name. The counter argument is that could be seen as admission of guilt but it's possible to state otherwise and fight the case on facts

What SJ said about JT etc EXCEPT the FAs incompetece and arrogance was in giving Capello an improved and non-results orientated extension to his contract PRIOR to the WC in South Africa, which folloiwing the debacle thereafter has left practically everyone scratching their heads about a) Why? and b) what to do with an overpaind, failed international manager who 'wouldn't' fall on his sword after failure as he had a watertight lucrative contract.

They may have used the JT situation to oust him but they chose him and then put him in the driving seat (contractually) in the first place.

Incompetent.

    • All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy   also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party?    hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great
    • The good news is that the Blythe's new leaseholder is Austin Whelan, who runs a chain of very decent Irish pubs, mainly in south London. By all accounts, he has no intention of making any major changes. It reopened last week.
    • A builder said that to me once! What I should have said (but thought of it too late) was that given that I was paying him to do a job, I expected that my glass would be full, not half full 🤣 But yes, you are right in this instance!
    • Just had a flyer through the door. Posting here for people who haven't had theirs yet. The 50% off food is for three days only, and advance bookings only. I liked the EDT as it used to be, so I really hope the changes won't be too massive. Last time I looked through the window the bar seemed to be still in the same place, but who knows. Think I'll wait a bit to try the food. When The Lordship launched, we went for a meal there and let's say things didn't go smoothly 😂 Anybody who was there will know what I mean 😂 They have redeemed themselves since, I hasten to add 😂
