mockney piers
I don't think crowds will be hostile, they'll take the piss mercilessly but there will be no hostility towards him.The super-injunction was a massive own goal for him. If he'd held off I reckon the press would have sat on the story the same way they did a number of stories about Gary Linekar. He'd just about worked his way into national treasure status then went and slapped a gagging order on the press, something they don't take kindly to.Whoops.In fairness to him it was probably on advice from a lawyer seeing pound signs a-flashing. matthew123
I wonder whether the super injunction was motivated by needing to keep a lid on the follow up story that has transpired because that is far more explosive than the Imogen affair. a bloke
The bidding war has started on Modric. Cracking little creative player, though lack of goals stops him from being truly world class. Jah Lush
Don't be ridiculous. He is world class. He may have only scored four times last season but he did pick up a niggly injury halfway through the season and missed a a few games but other than that he was brilliant and at times the best player on the pitch in most of the matches I saw him play. I'll be absolutely gutted if he leaves Spurs. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/341/#findComment-489368 Share on other sites
a bloke
I'm a Spurs fan too, and love him. But he's not world class....yet. A move to Man Utd may be what he needs to achieve that level to be honest. That title is bandied about willy nilly to too many good players. He needs to produce regularly on the international and Champions league stage to qualify for it. Very few players are truly world class. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/341/#findComment-489369 Share on other sites

Jah Lush
As a Spurs fan I'm bloody glad that didn't happen. Any stadia that has a running track around it will not be a great theatre or create a great atmosphere for football and unless West Ham gain immediate promotion back to the Premiership they'll be playing in a white elephant of an empty stadium. Pictures of the stadium make it look as though watching a game there will be like watching Orient... from Upton Park. Temporary seating etc. could make a difference but is it REALLY (Matty Etherington's return apart) going to look like this? http://farm1.static.flickr.com/121/255863389_47d2233f17.jpgETA: now Your Arsenal is closed can we expect an influx of chatty and disenfranchised Gooners on the EDF? red devil
...'chatty and disenfranchised', now who does that remind me of?Nevermind, for all those disenfranchised fans, Arsenal have brought out a plastic away kit in their honour...where's Atila when you need him? ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/341/#findComment-489377 Share on other sites
Sandperson
I see a smile appearing on that face (and mine) if we sign him. I see we've wrapped up the de Gea signing and with Jones (which wasn't as on the rocks as Matt might like to think) and Young it's been a good summer so far.
