Oh indeed Simon. I recall the last time we were (and I hate this phrase, it's so oxymoronic) 'too good to go down' we went down with 42 points! But the rump end of the premiership is truly awful this season and I count us among that number.

It's weird, we're the best side in the bottom half I reckon, the odd performance against bigger teams has shown we have the potential to do better, so to agree with quids, the responsibilty has to lie with the manager. I don't actually think hammers fans are fickle at all, but we do need the right man vetting the team playing the right way, and as top bloke as he is, Zola ain't him.

It will only be a double scotch pgc. Your treble dream ended while you slept last night.

Mick - do you think TM will walk? If not, I don't think you can afford to sack him... him and his team cost you close to ?3m to secure in the summer, and will have a fair old whack of compensation coming their way if you sack them??

Rangers were truly awful last night. As soon as I saw the line up, I knew we'd struggle. I think Walter Smith expected you to spank St Mirren, reduce the gap to 7, and then we have 2 very tough games in the SPL, so he took a gamble by resting the bigger players for the SPL, thinking our reserves should have enogh to beat Dundee Utd.

Gamble didn't pay off.

Do managers resign these days? Probably not.

Can they afford to sack him? - they can't afford to keep him, I'd say. Loss of gate receipts and european football all stacks up to a lot more than they need to pay to get rid of him.

If he sees it through today it probably means he will see out the season.

I can't imagine there will be a long queue to take the job either unless there is a significant trasnfer budget.

Moan and groan. :(

Maybe Rafa will be available soon.

No manager is going to resign if they are going to lose out financially and you can't blame them for that. The League Managers Association states that the average duration at a club is almost exactly two years (slightly higher in ther PL, but down to 1.5 years in Championship and League One). Can't be good for the game.
