Back to the slog of the League...Week 18 Fixtures.

I reckon a few will be tempted with this week's Coupon Buster, Swansea to win at Everton...

QPR V Tottenham

Aston Villa V Southampton

Everton V Swansea

Fulham V Wigan

Norwich V Newcastle

Reading V West Brom

Stoke V Chelsea

Sunderland V West Ham

Man Utd V Liverpool

Arsenal V Man City

Wasn't really expecting a result for Liverpool yesterday, but by the end I was disappointed they didn't get a draw. They were shocking in the first half though, and you can't give Man U a head start! Was good to see a bit of fight in them later on though, and Sturridge / Saurez look as though they will be able to play together...

Looking for some interesting discussion and banter, but all I see in the posts above were predictions. My son's primarly school run a fantasy football league if anyone is interested.

Right, I am now bored of taking the p out of your predictions competition, so wont mention it again, so back to proper football talk.

Interesting in the pricing structure and the talk of free coaches to away matches. A certain non London prem team do that as an occasional treat and have bused 2000+ with a fanfare that creates a nice carnival atmosphere. The same non London team has dropped ticket prices to a sensible ?15 for the FA Cup replay (compared to the ?26 at the first match, at the pride of West London (he says quoting the recent advertising, and stiffling a laugh)).

And to bring discussion to more local matters, Arsenal dropped the away fans tickets to ?26 for the recent match. OK there was still 5000 empty seats in the home areas, but hats off to them for more sensible charging. And to Fulham for the kids for a quid (and hang on for unpopular matches as you can buy tickets for ?15 from ticket master).

Just for malumbu, here are the Week 18 results and table (EP, are you sitting down comfortably?)...

EP - 2 Correct Results + 2 Correct Scores = 8 pts

RD - 4 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 7 pts

MM - 2 Correct Results + 1 Correct Score = 5 pts

JL - 5 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 5 pts

AM - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

LG - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

RC - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

SC - 4 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 4 pts

DR - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

Mx - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

OT - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

PD - 3 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 3 pts

?? - 2 Correct Results + 0 Correct Scores = 2 pts

Back to usual league form then *sighs and hopes Malumbu doesn't mock in the playground after double geog.*

Putting Irons' gormless display down to 'one of those days', especially after the disappointment of van p's late goal the week before. Hope Potts doesn't take his error to heart too much - could see he was expecting goalkeeper to come and will learn from it. Still think team are short of fire-power.

On a related note - albeit a petty one - I wasn't too bothered by WH's crappy "putting the X into Xmas" slogan (with the X represented by crossed hammers) but am finding the continued use of "Moore than just a football club" sticks right in my throat.

    • I live locally and am on Lordship Lane and North Cross Road most days. I've never been forced into traffic, or noticed any problem in any of these places! I appreciate that might be different with a buggy or mobility aid. I like to see people enjoying themselves outside.
    • It's good that you've never personally had to experience poison being left but it is a known fact in this area. It's not fly tipping - people leave food out for foxes but there are also people who purposefully leave food out to kill animals.
    • Totally recommend Aria. He goes the extra mile and as well as getting the job done and being very easy to deal with he is a very creative in finding solutions and offering advice
    • Just read this posting about the Blue Brick Cafe which I supported when they first applied to open. I Spoke out for them in front of three councillors because the council didn't want a cafe to continue there in a residential area. What a joy it has been seeing them there ever since and I though that it was the owner, Daniel, who had stopped putting the tables outside himself. Sorry to learn that it was Southwark Council putting a damper on things. I never noticed those table blocking the whole pavement and I live nearby and walk past regularly. One local, newly arrived resident in Fellbrigg Road tried the block the expansion of he North Cross Road street market some years ago - shame how some people have their own biased views. Sound like a bit of a situation up at the EDT though. Cheers!
