If West Ham continue to play like that they will definitely not go down. Along with Birmingham definitely the two performances of the weekend. Especially happy for you Brummies though. Well done. Fabulous result and a great performance from your team. Thoroughly deserved.

Thanks for the good wishes. Anyone got a map of Europe I can borrow?

Yep, West Ham looked good today. Have thought all season they have the players but have not played as a team. Lots still to be decided at the wrong end of the table.

West Ham great value for their win. Not taking anything away from it, but have to say, Liverpool didn't turn up. Best team definitely won on the day though. At least everyone will be happy at my office today. Congrats Birmingham! Weathered a storm, and went for it. Unfortunate mistake for the Arsenal, but Birmingham deserved the good fortune.
Thanks guys for your generous comments. I watched the cup final in a bar in Whitstable with my girlfriend and probably the only two other Blues fans in the town, who happened to come and sit next to us. The final whistle saw me jumping up and down with my new chums as if we were old pals. Girlfriend looked on, slightly bemused at my willingness to hug complete strangers. But Oh, happy day.

I was rather hoping you wouldn't be sticking your head over the parapet following the defeat of your (second) team at the hands of Motherwell. We live in hope. Perhaps you chose not read the post I put on here congratulating Birmingham on their win? Why would that not surprise me.

Funnily enough my mate, The Burberry Buffoon, has just bought down in Whitstable, but he was up in town yesterday to meet up with a couple of old friends.

Its was very bad luck in not having Fabregas for the final really, I'm sure he would have made the difference.

Absolutely, he'd have given the support Wilshere needed. And Walcott would have posed a greater threat with his speed. Against that, James McFadden and Scott Dann are long term absentees and Alexander Hleb picked up a injury last week which he couldn't shake. A shame for any player that misses out on such an occasion.

Sure KPC, not intending to take anything away from Birmingham at all, I was hoping they would win. But I do feel for LG and all Arsenal fans in having such a world class player missing for a big final.

I'm a big supporter of Alex McLeish, what an achiever that guy is.

Wouldn't the world be a better place if all Wembley matches were that enjoyable to watch?

Gutting to lose, and I hope out goalie learns from it, but well done Birmingham

meanwhile, Rooney and Ashley Cole continue to prove what class acts they are

I recall writing THIS over 3 years ago

and whilst the jury isn't in yet, the last year hasn't been good from him

    • I was in Forest Hill Road today, just past the Rye, and noticed there is a dentist next to the Herne (pub) that has NHS signs outside. I've never had any problems getting NHS dental treatment in East Dulwich, and I get regular check ups. I've been to three  different dental practices here over the years, all with NHS treatment. I think the difficulties are in other parts of the country. Malumbu has a good explanation above. I didn't hear the Radio 4 programme, but I'm guessing that a  radio programme is not going to have time to say where you CAN easily get NHS treatment, and is bound to focus on the negatives and the horror stories, otherwise it would be very boring! ETA: Re children's teeth, I think the major issue is not lack of dentists, it is children being given sugary food, drinks and confectionery which rots their teeth. The education of parents needs to be about this, not just about tooth brushing. And in some cases the poor diet may also be due to lack of money for healthy food. Though of course the lack of dentists doesn't help, if  the tooth rotting can't be rectified by fillings or extraction.
    • Well, I hope you like what you see, the hot air, lack of answers and continual blaming things on the last Government and the made up blackhole, I find are nauseating. The man needs to see reality, because I'd guess that if we had a snap election tomorrow and based on the first six months of this parliament, Labour would get trounced. When the election does finally happen and if that isn't before the people rise up and throw this lot out, Labour will not be voted back in for a millennium.
    • Yes thanks that's exactly the choices I get.  I will block and if somehow they find a way back I'll report.
