I've been trying to delete from my memory Spurs last couple of results. It hasn't been easy but I'm not that particularly worried considering the amount of injuries we have at the moment, five centre-halves out and our main goalscorer Jermain Defoe, plus our goalkeeper Gomez who only a short while ago everyone thought was a bit of joke but has turned out to be pretty damned good.

What some people are forgetting is that the season is still young. Plenty of time yet to redress the balance. Anyway, I didn't think Arsenal cared about the Carling Cup. Are you that desperate for a bit of silverware?

Anyway, congratulations to the Hammers contingent on here, I know you've been waiting for over four years for that result so enjoy the feeling while it lasts.

As far as I'm concerned the only reason the 4-1 win was of any consequence was because it was against Spurs, if Arsenal don't win it I couldn't care less. I'd rather have had the 3 points against WBA. Talking of desperate, I would be if I'd waited almost 50 years to win a title. But I guess Spurs fans know that this isn't gonna happen in their lifetime so its no longer an expectation.

Beg pardon, who, Atila????

I've mentioned a fact as Benitez, bless him, once said. Spurs haven't won the title for 50 years. Fact. You kicked the desperation thing off Mr. Lush, not I.

Desperation is mentioning the number of injuries to the squad as the reason for a defeat. I'm happy to admit we lost to WBA because we were poor, try admitting the same about your perforamnce against the Arsenal and West Ham, you find it very cathartic.

edited due to rubbish spelling!!

:-)

I have to say I skim read a lot of the forum these days but I didn't spot it at all.

Axeman, thought it was mike, now pretty convinced it's wolf despite not doing his usual giveaways (though footie thread avoidance is one of these thinking about it)

Is it because Halloween is coming soon or something?

Yep! Too easy. The same taste in music on the song game thread and mentioning of Turkish bread and shops on another and of course he supports the Arse and just can't contain his hatred for Spurs. That repetition of the 50 years since we won the title was just too easy for everyone else. Must try harder next time Atila.

Anyways - I'm off to the match at White Hart Lane tomorrow night. Champions League we're having a laugh.

Anna, you don't get a permanent ban without good reason...why don't you go back and read the posts before he was banned if you need an explanation.

    • Naaah, it's rubbish - it would be a change of use so would need planning. https://www.planningdirect.co.uk/planningappeals/affordable-planning-applications/change-of-use/commercial-to-takeaway-change-of-use There's not enough footfall for a McDonalds, anyway, and they're quite picky about their sites
    • So let's never do anything that might improve an area, because it will just be dragged down to the level of what's presently there? Is that what you are saying? I don't have the time or the inclination to do the research, but I'm pretty sure that I have read  that when people who had lived in a very run down area  were given  nice surroundings, they appreciated and looked after them.
