I don't know. I think he should feel a bit peeved. Palace could have done with that result and I've always had as soft spot for them. I also think he's the sort of character we need in the game (I am ducking for cover), I just loved that quote from him about managing Wednesday.
I have yet to see a game where the the Ref or Linesman does not get one call wrong. Human error has to be accounted for. However, you can't ban linesman or refs for giving a corner when it should have been a goalkick. He should be more concerned about his team's defending on that corner. Can you imagine if a Ref came out and said Warnock should be banned from managing for a month because he made a tactical error or bad decision. As for him being a 'character',this is the manager who once tried to encourage one of his players to break an opponents leg. Yeah we really need blokes like him in the game.

Ok, ok. Be calm Jimmy. It was just an opinion. I never said he was perfect. I think that it's a bit unfair to say that he shouldn't want some sort of disciplinary action against the linesman. He made a mistake, which, as you say happens, but it was a fairly crucial one. He was quoted as saying that he had been told that if the decision is wrong then the official will be suspended and he added he hoped he was for a long time. Fair enough I say.

You are in good company here as I am the only person that will defend Warnock. I think the other must still be in bed. ;-)

Just to add, I don't think there are many managers out there who haven't encouraged their players, at one time or another, to clatter and opponent. I just donh't think you hear about it.

Warnock once stood on the touchline and mouthed to one of his players to 'break his leg' regarding an opponent when he was ay Sheffield Utd. Whilst saying this he used to his foot in s stamping action to enforce his point. I thought that was a disgrace. I think Warnock is a bit like ole Vinegar face over at the Emirates. A real whinger. And as for the corner decision, I have to again repeat, what about his team's defending on that corner? It was poor. He should accept responsibility for this rather then moaning about the linesman.
When Colin made that gesture he intended no such thing...he just wanted the guy to get stuck in. Roughly half Sheffield United's supporters thought he was a poor manager too, but they were idiots really, given how many of Warnock's predecessors had ignominiously failed to get United into the Premier. It was a 10 point gap and they were cheated out of it...West Ham supporters like to cultivate the opposite myth though..
Warnock's gesture was for the guy just to get stuck in? Yes that's what he said when he was busted by being caught on camera doing it. The bloke's a dinosaur. He's clueless if you ask me. I saw a fly on the wall documentary once and it showed him giving a half time team talk. All he could do was shout and swear. There was not one tactical nugget in anything he had to say.
CL tomorrow night, be interesting to see how the Milan old boys shape up against the young guns of United. Putting aside reputations I think it will still be a tight affair. Rooney is obviously the star man but could it be a night when Beckham rolls back the years and cons the Ref with a little dive outside box and scores winning free kick... now that be nice! Not that I condone tricksters but seeing United having to swallow their own medicine would be very satisfying.

I saw the same series. It never occurred to you that the presence of the TV cameras was in any way influencing what Colin was saying/shouting/ranting about then? :)) It's funny too how he always finds employment. I see the latest rumour has him heading for QPR if Palace go bust...

    • Not sure about changing hands but the Peckham Rye one is open and hasn’t had any random closures. Our child is very happy there but there was a resolved Ofsted complaint half way through last year.  Things don’t look good for the Devon nursery owned by the same company - looks like loads of issues with Ofsted which can be seen in its latest report.
    • I was in Forest Hill Road today, just past the Rye, and noticed there is a dentist next to the Herne (pub) that has NHS signs outside. I've never had any problems getting NHS dental treatment in East Dulwich, and I get regular check ups. I've been to three  different dental practices here over the years, all with NHS treatment. I think the difficulties are in other parts of the country. Malumbu has a good explanation above. I didn't hear the Radio 4 programme, but I'm guessing that a  radio programme is not going to have time to say where you CAN easily get NHS treatment, and is bound to focus on the negatives and the horror stories, otherwise it would be very boring! ETA: Re children's teeth, I think the major issue is not lack of dentists, it is children being given sugary food, drinks and confectionery which rots their teeth. The education of parents needs to be about this, not just about tooth brushing. And in some cases the poor diet may also be due to lack of money for healthy food. Though of course the lack of dentists doesn't help, if  the tooth rotting can't be rectified by fillings or extraction.
    • Well, I hope you like what you see, the hot air, lack of answers and continual blaming things on the last Government and the made up blackhole, I find are nauseating. The man needs to see reality, because I'd guess that if we had a snap election tomorrow and based on the first six months of this parliament, Labour would get trounced. When the election does finally happen and if that isn't before the people rise up and throw this lot out, Labour will not be voted back in for a millennium.
