????
George Graham is from a different era of football. His Arsenal style of Football wouldn't be successfull and his man management wouldn't work with modern players. jimmy two times
Possibly, but Tony Pulis doesn't mind throwing his weight around, and Fergie is not averse to throwing the odd boot. George Graham has got the right credentials to still be a top manager. I can only assume he simply doesn't want the hassle anymore. Mick Mac
I think GG's 1989 championship winning team was good to watch. Rocastle on one wing, Brian Marwood on the other. Michael Thomas and Paul Davis were a relatively cultured midfield. Merson up front - some good footballers and a strong defence. Then you had Perry Groves..... Atila Reincarnate
I met Rocky Rocastle on Forest Hill station many times in the 80's when he lived in the area and used the train to go to the training ground. What a gentleman he was, genuinely grounded and a lovely guy. Oh Rocky, Rocky............. david_carnell
Don't forget Anders Limpar and Ian Wright. Oh, but then there was John Jensen.Plus, the longer he's out of the game, the less chance of him being offered a contract.Football has moved on a lot since 2001 and at 65 he's the wrong age for a club looking for a long term appointment. jimmy two times
He did well at Spurs. Better then most of the managers we've had in charge. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/52/#findComment-482139 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
He won the League Cup. So what. The football we played was rubbish. It was bad enough when we had Terry Neill at Spurs but having George Graham there gave off a particularly bad whiff. Once a Gooner etc etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/52/#findComment-482140 Share on other sites

jimmy two times
Danny Blanchflower once said that football is all about glory. Winning a trophy is glory and shouldn't be sneered at. Atila Reincarnate
Winning a tophy in recent times is somthing Spuds can't afford, and have no right, to sneer at. Jah Lush
Speak for yourself Atila... Jimmy - Blanchflower was talking about winning in style. That's the Tottenham way. jimmy two times
Winning in style The Tottenham way? Maybe at one time Jah but not for yonks. Having a soft underbelly is the style I most associate with my beloved Spurs. Most of the players we've had in recent years haven't been fit to wear the shirt. We're playing well at present but the results against Wolves and Stoke worried me, as well as losing at home to 10 man united when we were 1 up. That's been the Tottenham way for quite a while now. Atila Reincarnate
We've been won the title three times in better style than most teams manage in a lifetime from 1998 to now, whilst Tottenham have won precisely no, none, zilch, zip, nada, zero, titles in the same period. A Spuds fan preaching style to the present Arsenal side is laughable. jimmy two times
Despite Arsenal's superior short passing game they can be quite predictable. They lack any real quality on the wings and everything is played in front of the opposing defence. A savvy defence would simply stay compact an invite Arsenal to try to use the flanks as even if they do get crosses in they lack the aerial ability to convert crosses into goals, despite Eduardo's rare headed goal on sunday. Jah Lush
That was down to very poor defending by an Arsenal reject (Matthew Upson). I mean how tall is Eduardo? He should never of got near that cross. I rate Eduardo though. Top class finisher. Keef
Looks like Beckford might be off to Newcastle for ?3million though. Personally, if we get that much, I'd bite Mike Ashley's hand off. He's worth nowhere near that.It would seem he's put in a transfer request. Scores a goal against the champs, and starts believing his own hype.
