......we are both physically and mentally exhausted after a rough few months.

I?d like to take my 4 year old daughter and I to the coast for bank holiday weekend.

Has anyone on this thread used a good Air B&B in Hove, Whistable or somewhere on the coast not too far from SE London?

I?d love some pointers towards some tried and tested success stories....

Thank you xx

We stayed above Birdies restaurant in Whitstable - very spacious, a short walk to the beach and highstreet.

I worried that it might be a bit noisy being above a restaurant (and I'm super sensitive to noise through walls) but it was fine. Went with 2 small children and had a lovely time.

We had a really lovely weekend recently in Whitstable with my pair - stayed in a little place right by the high street and v close to the water. Would highly recommend it. Some pics and details of where we stayed/what we did are in my blog - https://hernehillmum.com/2018/03/30/a-weekend-in-whitstable/
I run the Writer's Retreat in Ramsgate which is a lovely Airbnb(really it is, I'm not biased), with lots of toys and books for young kids, and I have lots of local recommendations of things to do, places to eat, etc. My daughter is 5 and she loves it.

    • So it's an assumption, then? You haven't spoken to the driver?!
    • Article in today's Grauniad on how to save money on water bills. Though only if you are  on a meter. If you aren't on a meter, there's nothing you can do to reduce your bills, so far as I know. Though from an environmental point of view etc I guess it is always good to reduce your water usage where you can. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2025/apr/16/cut-water-bill-england-wales-best-ways-to-save?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
    • I'm afraid the driver isn't able to escape the laws of physics which were laid down a few moments after the Big Bang
