We've had quite a few new flats in this area over the last decade - from the site next door to the ones on the old barracks to smaller developments in various side streets. All without any improvement in the transport or services infrastructure to support them. This is a relatively big site - I'd really hate to see another few hundred people trying to clamber on local buses (and this will impact those who live further down Lordship Lane).

If it has to be flats (and I'd prefer a good proportion of 'affordable' housing) then a few blocks which have some retail/catering at the bottom to help enliven the local community. They don't have to be huge units - but with decent rents to encourage a few interesting food and drink pop-up type ventures. There are a lot of walkers on the Green Trail that come down Cox's Walk so there's a market even outwith local residents. TFL might finally even then consider giving pedestrians the ability to cross the road safely!

From a purely selfish viewpoint (and I don't think either of these would happen in the current climate), I'd like a good non-Sainsburys supermarket to force some competition in the area. If they kept the car park, I think they'd get enough 'big shops' from those commuting round the South Cir as well as local baskets from nearby streets.

Or, as been suggested before, a pub/restaurant with a few decent hotel rooms above - there's a dearth in this area. A good brew-pub (i.e. with a small brewery on site) with good food (or pop-ups like All Inn One in Forest Hill) ideally with a BBQ and the beer garden would be fabulous in the summer.
