My friends have recently been charged ?25 for a 24 word letter stating their child suffers from a life threatening allergy and needed to carry her Epi-pen with her at all times. In the past when Dr Johnson was at the practice they were happy to write this letter for free.

It seems a bit off to charge ?25 to write a letter for a child who suffers from a life threatening allergy, maybe it's because it was signed by Dr Anu Bhatia (GM TV's resident doctor?). The parents are both lecturers who regularly sign passport applications, write Council Tax letters and student loan letters for their students, a service that they would never dream of charging for as they believe it is part of their job (vocation). A view which is not held by Dr Bhatia or the privately run Concordia Health Melbourne Grove Medical Practice.
