Browncoffee
Just finalising childcare arrangements for my little one and wondering if I'm being too optimistic in thinking that I can drop her off in the mornings and then drive down to Honor Oak Park station, and park around there. Is there generally parking around the station in the mornings? Forest Hill Station is another option, if parking is better near the station? Thanks,BC Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18794-parking-around-hop-station/ Share on other sites

StraferJack
No equivalent of Melbourne grove in HOP then? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18794-parking-around-hop-station/#findComment-460566 Share on other sites
mrcee
HOP can be a nightmare to park at in the mornings so it all depends how flexible your start time is. tor
I used to park along Devonshire Road after a childcare drop off and most of the time I would find a parking space relatively close to the station. But if I was any later than 8.30am then I would end up parking half way to Forest Hill! cmck83
Forest hill has an actual car park you can pull into to drop people off, it isn't possible to park directly outside hop. There is a road next to it, but it is blocked off on the station side. Bishberro
I live in a street near HOP station and it's getting more and more of a nightmare to try and find a parking space near to the house because of people parking to use the station. I know there is a campaign going to try and get resident permit parking in all of the streets off HOP including Devonshire so that might be worth considering. StraferJack
aha - exactly what I was getting at BishberroA lot of people think their roads (eg Melbourne Grove thread) are theirs alone, whereas other roads are... well.. public roads innit Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18794-parking-around-hop-station/#findComment-460608 Share on other sites
Browncoffee
Thank you all so much for your responses. Looks like I'll be better off parking close to her nursery and walking down to the station. All good exercise;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18794-parking-around-hop-station/#findComment-460670 Share on other sites

malumbu
DON'TELL has led to people out of Borough (I stereotype them as Bromley Bankers) blocking our roads. It will lead to a CPZ. And for a change I do know what I am talking about. Huguenot
I love these threads, where a lot of blow-ins get uppity about their technical right to use the front of someone else's house as storage for a two ton heap of carbon sweating metal. If they did it with two tons of something else, they'd rightfully get a pop on the nose, what makes a 'car' any different? Jeremy
malumbu, why would anyone from Bromley park in Honor Oak to catch a train into London, when there is more free parking than you can shake a stick at in Canada Water? Also, even as a resident of a road, you have no right to tell people not to park there. Congested roads are one of the downsides of living near good transport connections. By all means, campaign for parking restrictions. dbboy
I better go and get some wheel clamps, attach them once cars are parked up, wait till about 4pm and start collecting the release fee's, a real easy way to generate some passive income.
