DVnewbie
Hello,Can anybody give me a rough idea of how much the going rate in Dulwich is for nannies please? We're struggling to work it out as agencies have told us different things and the CVs I've seen have very different salary expectations. I realise it depends on experience (we've had a nanny in Islington for nearly 3 years) and whether or not it's a nanny share but a rough idea from parents in Dulwich would be really helpful.... We've got two children (3.5 and 2) and won't be doing a nanny share!Thank you! Moos
Simply Childcare suggests ?9-10 / hour net of tax for a London nanny not shared. Why nannies can't be employed on a salary quoted gross of tax is beyond me. It makes everything incredibly complicated. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18776-going-rate-for-nannies/#findComment-460210 Share on other sites
DVnewbie
Thanks - yes, this whole net/gross thing is a bit tricky as you have to be crystal clear when discussing salaries! Smiler
Hiya, don't know about any "going rate", but this tool is quite helpful in calculating the overall cost, what the nanny will take home etc. http://www.mranchovy.com/calc/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18776-going-rate-for-nannies/#findComment-460265 Share on other sites
DVnewbie
Thanks Smiler! I use one on the nannytax website that does something similar!! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18776-going-rate-for-nannies/#findComment-460275 Share on other sites
Readey
We have an experienced nanny for 2 children. She does her own tax, is self employed, we pay ?12.80 per hour. If we had taken on the tax it would have been ?10 per hour. It suits us not to have the hassle of tax etc. Good luck with your search. jojojo
hi starting rate for a single family is ?10 net per hour and ?11 to ?12 for a share, for an experienced nanny If you look up the rules at hmrc for self employment. A nanny can not actually be self employed and has to be employed Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18776-going-rate-for-nannies/#findComment-462227 Share on other sites
