sociable cycle ride Saturday April 7th 10am

Recommended Posts

Easy-paced sociable ride to Clapham Common starts at Dulwich Park Cafe SE21 7BQ at 10am and returns two hours later.

The route will be the usual quiet meander through backstreets and paths. It's gentle, avoiding any big hills. From the park riders go out via Herne Hill Velodrome, Brockwell Park and Brixton Windmill. There's a brief stop at the Cafe near Bandstand on Clapham Common and return via Brockwell Park and Bel Air Park. Route at https://goo.gl/gcbI5s.

These weekly rides are organised and most of them are run by Bruce Lynn on behalf of Southwark cyclists. Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for fun, safe cycling in London. We campaign for it too. Everything we do is free and open to all. If anyone tells you otherwise don't believe them.

    • Just because something is abstract doesn’t make it dull…  Also the artist is a respected artist who has created street art all over london and the world. Commissioned by councils as well. The piece deserved to be protected
    • The long-standing narrative "I wish the politicians would treat us like grown-ups" doesn't stand up very well when exposed to reality
    • Yeh, I heard Badenoch banging on about how 'nothing works' at PMQs, as if this was a charge that could reasonably be laid at the feet of a recently elected Labour government. She's right that things are in a terrible state, but it was her government which left the country so. Labour have a huge uphill struggle to try and halt the decline of public services and restore our finances. People need to wake up to the legacy that the Tories have left us.
    • well yep - all of that is true and Labour boxing themselves in on Brexit red lines is counter to their growth narrative as well  (albeit semi-understandable given what would happened to the media and likes of Jazzer if they are even perceived to soften them) choppy waters ahead - but that would be true of any govt picking up the pieces and in no way validated the petition hysteria
