Well, given their members (Nancy Kerr, James Fagan, Jess Arrowsmith and Richard Arrowsmith) we should have known, but hey we were blown away when we saw The Melrose Quartet live, so we are delighted to have booked them this year!

From deep roots in their hometown?s vibrant music, song and dance scene, to smashing concert appearances in the UK and abroad, Sheffield-based Melrose Quartet have attracted a reputation for making music that truly connects with people. All four are internationally renowned singers, instrumentalists, writer/composers and teachers and in 2017 they were proud to be named the new patrons of Whitby Folk week.

Norwich based folk / Americana trio Alden Patterson and Dashwood weave rich vocal harmonies, fiddle, dobro, guitar and mandolin around beautifully written original songs and melodies. Their music takes influence from folk traditions from both sides of the Atlantic with uplifting instrumentals and self-penned songs depicting tales of young travellers, sleepy seas and their affection for home.

Their album ?Call me Home? was fRoots Editor?s Choice Album of the Year in 2016.

Sandtimer is a British folk-rock duo formed in Hampshire by musicians Robert Sword and Simon Thomas. Featuring close vocal harmonies, percussive guitar rhythms and intricate, Appalachian-infused guitar textures, Sandtimer sing songs of reflection and escapism. They strive to combine innovative ideas with classic songcraft to create something at once unique and familiar.
