Thanks for that. No answers as yet, but perhaps it's too early for anything other than wild guesses.

My brother lives near Wimbledon and lets out a spare room for ?90 a night during the tennis tournament. He expects to get more in the Olympics. ED isn't as well located but I think secondary locations will still get booked up solid in the last few weeks.

Sorry for the delay, the best I've found responsive wise is

Others claim all sorts of guarantees, which is crazy.

3 things I've learnt is don't expect massive enquiries with wad loads of cash right now, it seems the corporates have got their things sorted and it tends to be uk families looking for cheap nights accommodation, or families who claim to have a relative participating in the games looking for a sympathy rent. Secondly beware of non genuine enquireies, had a few that simply were looking to move in and never move out, thirdly on a more positive note, try not to be greedy, my one bedder on Crystal Palace Road I teased at 500 a week and had 7 chasing on got close to a ?900.

If you are still looking, I've just launched a new site aimed specifically for the 2012 Olypics. Its already getting a great deal of traffic, I think that the subject is starting to become an hot topic for anyone thinking of visiting London next year. Check out www.londongamesrentals.com - john

    • Yes. I had already offered to do so  some time ago if you are not able to do this yourself. Monica is not in there every day, and it is holiday season at the moment. I will try to catch up with her in the next few weeks. I assume there is no hurry as this has been dragging on for so long. I will find out whether there was more than one key holder, or whether there was one for every notice board. Also whether the same key (or copies of the same key)  was used for each board. I will also find out how Monica  liaised with the relevant people on the council and what their job titles were I will ask what system there was for ensuring that only neutral and non commercial information is displayed on the boards, for getting that information and for updating it. Before I speak to Monica, it would be helpful to know if jellybeanz is offering to be the key holder for all the noticeboards and keep them up to date, or alternatively if anybody else apart from jellybeanz is willing to have a key. Please private message me if you prefer. I should make it clear that I am not offering to be a key holder or to be involved in this any further than I have outlined above. And also that I am not "getting a key". I am just finding out more from Monica. I feel that it would have been helpful to have addressed these practical issues at the outset.
    • I'm an air conditioning installer - this is everything you need to know about getting it fitted https://mol.im/a/14875047 via https://dailym.ai/android   This may be helpful (sorry it's the Daily Mail!)
    • I don’t want the gatekeepers/key holders deciding what or what doesn’t merit being on the board. It’s for council/municipal information only. It’s not right that commercial or political parties or social campaigners be allowed to take advantage of such a facility. So, if the key holder can work with the relevant councillor/s, this would be a great idea. If not, it woudn’t.
    • Good idea - Sue are you happy to speak to the owner of Health Matters? Thanks
