Floorpsots welcome. ?7 on the door.

The Foxglove Trio: The Goose Is Out! The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead, SE15 3BE. Thursday 12 April, Doors open 7 pm.

We are delighted to be welcoming The Foxglove Trio back to the Goose, and we are sure all of you who saw them supporting Ewan McLennan at The Ivy House last year will be delighted as well!

The Foxglove Trio seek out lesser-known traditional and contemporary folk songs and, with care and creativity, transform them into moments of breathtaking beauty, via Patrick Dean?s bold melodeon playing, Cathy Mason?s intricate cello lines and Ffion Mair?s clear, soaring vocals.

The Foxglove Trio's intriguing repertoire and imaginative arrangements are presented with an infectious energy and an effortless charm. Their passionate performances will captivate you and take you on a journey from subtly political contemporary songs to jaunty Yorkshire tales and soulful Welsh laments.

"A wonderful band, with a lovely take on traditional folk songs, as well as great original material."

    • Just because something is abstract doesn’t make it dull…  Also the artist is a respected artist who has created street art all over london and the world. Commissioned by councils as well. The piece deserved to be protected
    • The long-standing narrative "I wish the politicians would treat us like grown-ups" doesn't stand up very well when exposed to reality
    • Yeh, I heard Badenoch banging on about how 'nothing works' at PMQs, as if this was a charge that could reasonably be laid at the feet of a recently elected Labour government. She's right that things are in a terrible state, but it was her government which left the country so. Labour have a huge uphill struggle to try and halt the decline of public services and restore our finances. People need to wake up to the legacy that the Tories have left us.
    • well yep - all of that is true and Labour boxing themselves in on Brexit red lines is counter to their growth narrative as well  (albeit semi-understandable given what would happened to the media and likes of Jazzer if they are even perceived to soften them) choppy waters ahead - but that would be true of any govt picking up the pieces and in no way validated the petition hysteria
