woodie
The parakeets live in tree on the rye. Ive heard that they are beilieved to originate from either bill wyman or jimi hendrix.that either or maybe, both lived locally to here at some stage. the birds escaped. now theres as many as 15 in the flock that you can see in the air, peckham rye. Rumour i heard.btw great forum this whoever started it. n1. kford
I heard they all originated from the set of The African Queen, filmed partially on the back lot at Pinewood. They were released in the trees to add some authenticity to the scene, but just buggered off into the wild. They spread east through Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common, now they're on the Rye and doing very well, pushing the local birds out.
