lynners
Hi there,I have a 3 year old boy and we're moving to East Dulwich in about a month. In theory we'll be in the Heber school catchment (yes in theory, I know!!! Fingers crossed.)Anyway, Mondays are my day off work with him and Grandma will be looking after him at our house on Thursdays so I was wondering of anyone could recommend any nice local groups to go to on either of those days. Many thanks. By the way are there any Children's Centres in East Duwich? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18572-new-to-ed/ Share on other sites
curlykaren
Think your nearest centres would be at rye oak primary or ivydale. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18572-new-to-ed/#findComment-456960 Share on other sites
The Nappy Lady
Yes, Ivydale on a Monday morning, but it's about a 15/20 minute walk across Peckham Rye Park to the children's centre. Not sure if Rye Oak still do 'open sessions', think you have to apply for a place don't you? When are the Albrighton Centre sessions? Might be worth investigating.Anyway - there is plenty on in the area, so you should be fine - keep your eye on this forum and you'll soon hear about lots of stuff, it's a great area to be in with children :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18572-new-to-ed/#findComment-456962 Share on other sites
lynners
Thanks very much ladies for the suggestions. Will definitely check them out. I know Heber doesn't have a Children's Centre but does Goodrich, or maybe Goose Green Primary? They would be a little closer to me. I'll be at the Whateley Road end of Landells Road. Are there any groups run in church halls close by?I think Peckham Rye has a One O'clock Club - is that right? If so where is it? I've been to the cafe and saw a carpark on the other side. Where do you go from there? Thanks so much. Can't wait to be settled in my new home. ratty
One o clock club is next to the cafe, other side from the car park. Welcome to the hood! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18572-new-to-ed/#findComment-457218 Share on other sites
curlykaren
yes one o'clock club right next to cafe, it will be open from 10.30 am during the summer. Think that rye oak has returned to a drop in but we haven't been for ages so can't remember the timetable. Don't think that there are children's centres in the schools you have mentioned. Also dulwich pool will have much more time for general swimmers during summer hols as well.
