Frankito
I have a meet at 9am in Canary Wharf tomorrow and need to know how long the journey is by tube from Honor Oak to Canary Wharf. Otta
It's under 15 minutes to Canada Water on the London Overground. Then squeeze on to a Jubilee Line train, one stop (2 or 3 minutes) to Canary Wharf. The whole thing shouldn't take longer than half hour max. Jeremy
Does anyone use this route regularly? Canada Water always used to be absolutely rammed any time between 8:15 and 8:50, you'd have to wait for several trains to pass before you could squeeze on. Otta
Yeah it is pretty much like that, although I'd say it's worse West bound.I go on to Canning Town, so just have to hold my breath for one stop, then it empties out at Canary Wharf. CBRoad
This is my daily commute. I know I?m too late for Frankito but at that time of the morning it will take a lot longer than half an hour. They journey itself is very quick but the amount of people squeezing onto the escalator to the tube platform and then onto a tube can add a hefty amount of time to your journey as you will probably need to let a few tubes go before you can squeeze onto one. I would say for a 9am arrival you should be on the train at HOP by 8.20am and keep your fingers crossed that the jubilee line is running a good service. Wimpole
I really don't understand anyone who commutes into central London between 8 and 9am. The only reason is laziness not to get up earlier (school runs etc aside). Leave at 7.30am, get a seat, have a pleasant ride in and grab a coffee beforehand. mockney piers
I'm, confined by the school run limitations, bah humbug.Luckily Denmark hill thameslink train isn't too bad, and even when busy is only ten minutes of pain.If it doesn't work you're screwed mind. Brendan
What really fucking irks me is when people refer scornfully to laziness as if it isn?t a perfectly valid excuse for not doing something. Jeremy
Yep, an extra half hour of sleep is a pretty good reason for not going into work early... Brendan
Yep and, ?Can?t be fucking bothered? is a perfectly good excuse for me leaving this stinking pile of legal papers on my desk and going to the pub. You need the nine to fivers, happy with their lot, not pushing it... to keep the evil capitalists humming along. Perhaps the thing to be is a lazy capitalist? Applespider
I'm lazy and like having the extra 30 minutes in bed but then I offset my laziness by cycling to work since it's quicker so I can leave the house later.
