Dominica's Bazaar - any memories please!

Just a little bit of research for my funeral of a lady who used to work there many years ago. Any memories would be gratefully received. The way it has been described to me thus far was as the Biba of East Dulwich! I learned it was on Lordship Lane where Foxtons now is. Thanks folks!

Originally there was a Woolworths where Foxtons is now, then it became a Jobcentre.

So Woolworths occupied the site first? Hmmm. I wonder where Dominica's Bazaar was then!

Before it was the Job Centre, it was an Advice Centre of some sort, I never quite understood what it did.

It was more a Citizens Advice Centre and had legal advisors. I remember Woolworths as I lived in Spurling Road just around the corner. It was empty for a while before it came the advice centre.

I've lived here since 1951 and have racked what is left of my brains and can't recall anything .

Out of interest roughly what years would the person have worked there ?

My memories of Woolworths also go back to the 1950s.

If you can find a Kellys Directory for the late 1940s (should be in reference library) you can look up Lordship Lane and find all the shops/businesses listed.
