I am still breastfeeding my 9 month old - and had weaned him to just have a morning and evening feed - but in the last week he has been asking for more milk during the day and eating less solids because he has been v coldy. I have been letting him feed a bit more during the day because he was so off his solid foods. Then yesterday i started feeling all fluey and ropey - went to bed shivering and think i was running a temperature during the night. This happened to me another time about 2 months ago - again just after my son had needed extra milk for a few days cause he was teething. Is this something thats happened to anyone else? Does producing extra milk make you feel rubbish? Both times the symptoms were v similar - bout 24 hours of feeling achey and slightly feverish and really tired!

Are your boobs hot at all? Not like that, I'm sure you're gorgeous ;) I mean hot to touh or engorged or sore? Could be the onset of mastisis- I'd call your GP asap- you don't want to mess about when it comes to that! Or it could be a cold from the baby- have you heard of passage?- apparently when adults catch vitals etc from children, it's always a lot worse as the virus mutates to be a bit more aggressive. Or so my Mum says.

Milk fever ... What I think of as this fluey feeling fro

Rapid production, like in the first few weeks

I have normally got through by drInling plenty, hot shower, extra feeding or pumping

Nurofen though not sure it's recommended now when bf

If you do notice a hard lump visit the gp or if it doesn't go away, the fever xx
