jimlad48
Schools outreach visit usually - they will usually pop in to show the equipment off and talk about work of the Royal Navy. birnehelene
That makes sense. It looked quite dramatic. The guys were standing in the open door of the helicopter looking down as they were landing. First looked like they were searching for sth but maybe just to help with navigation for landing Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/185479-royal-navy-helicopter-just-landed-at-alleyns-sportsground/#findComment-1228587 Share on other sites

Robert Poste's Child
The younger workmen from the Calton Ave roadworks were hanging over the fence like schoolboys. The older ones took the opportunity for a sit-down in the cab with a cup of tea. DadOf4
Yes - I saw it land after circling over Dulwich for 5 mins - I also was like a 45 year old schoolboy - I now have neckache Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/185479-royal-navy-helicopter-just-landed-at-alleyns-sportsground/#findComment-1228653 Share on other sites
jimlad48
You need the crew out to watch on the way down if there is no one to guide you in - visibility can be finite in the cab, and you need to know height and make sure the landing zone remains clear - otherwise it gets a bit messy... jimlad48
dbboy Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Your country needs you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recruiting for> the Royal Navy I'd guess.Definitely - it needs you to join an organisation which offers amazing opportunity, superb training, world class leadership and responsibility, travel across the world and an exceptionally good pay and benefits package, as well as getting to get transferable skills that benefit you in later life. A full/spare time career in the RN is a great way to get ahead in life. jimlad48
I am grateful we live in a society where people are free to challenge like that. Given the world we are in, the Forces will need recruits to keep the nation free to enjoy such freedom of speech for many years to come. We leave acts of barbarity like that to the Russians. Syria is a hugely complex situation, which can have repercussions here in the UK and elsewhere. So yes, it is to keep us safe. The sad reality is we live in a challenging, difficult world and its not always possible to live it without having to do difficult things. Chick
Except it wont keep us safe, do you think the terror attacks we have had are just coincidence? And I remember the war in Bosnia, with targeted attacks that were so accurate the missiles land in the wrong country.
