Sainsburys parking tip

Recommended Posts

I got my parking ticket at Sainsbury's DKH rescinded as I moaned that I was actually shopping and queuing at the till and having a coffee (in Sainsbury's Starbucks) and in that case I'm a valid customer who happens to shop slowly (I had my ?120 receipt too). They've let me off as a gesture of goodwill :)

The interesting thing is I've been told if I'm going to do that again tell the customer services people and they'll extend my stay (for 30 mins or whatever).

Anyone who wants to say two and a half hours is too long to shop can but maybe useful for someone

If you've got time to leave a comment as pointless as that, the evidence would appear to contradict your opening clause.

I would respond to this but like I said earlier, I have far better things to do then respond to your rather rude message.......enjoy the supermarket car parks, there's one next to Lidl in Peckham you might enjoy too

The only rudeness was your stupid, pointless trolling comment. As per my comment on another thread, grow up or move on.

  • 4 weeks later...
Do they give you a ticket or just shock you with a letter six weeks after the date? I went over my two hours today by the time I'd done a big shop, dealt with a nappy, a spillage and taking a toddler around the toy section. It's very easy to do!

I think they are enforceable but as an invoice rather than a fine. Something like agreeing to the T&Cs by parking there in the first place, and the T&Cs state that the parking is free for 2 hours and then ?100 (or some other ridiculous amount). Failure to pay can end up in a civil court case which can result in court costs and so on.

As this has gone on for years, I would think that the general driving public would have wised up to them if they were not enforceable.

Worth looking at if you need a tool they have but won’t use one enough to justify buying one.    Although Southwark Council have been running this for a year I’ve only just seen it. Thought it might be of interest   https://www.libraryofthings.co.uk

    • We have found some items in our garden that obviously belong to someone who has been mugged.  They have appeared overnight Also a girl was screaming on Champion Hill last night and I am wondering if the two things are connected.  Please PM me if you want to ask anything I will let the police know but not sure if they'll bother looking for the owner! PLEASE NOTE: a warning to all young women, Champion Hill is a bit of a mugging hot spot right now so if you're going out that way take your 2nd best phone and don't keep your bank card in the cover!  Edited to add. The muggers seem to be targeting lone girls hence the point above
