Steve 00, D G Services

I would recommend Steve highly. He provided an immediate quote which was reasonable and which he did not exceed. He was pleasant and flexible and extremely hard working and completed the work on schedule. The work in our garden included clearing, levelling and laying turf, fixing paving and painting a wall as well as planting and laying bark. I am certainly going to ask him to continue to maintain our garden.

Hi - I have a recommendation for another Steve (07962588326). He has been looking after my elderly Mother's garden - starting with a big clear up and now just pops round when he has a spare hour to weed, tidy up and cut her some flowers fom the garden. He's very much self-motivated so I can just leave him to do what is necessary and don't even have to book him in any more .. he just pops by when he's in the area. He's a hardworking and sensitive soul.
I highly recommend Steve. He removed two trees for me. Did a great job, cleaned and tidy up. He was very helpful and tied back a bush for me. Steve consulted me through out the job to make sure he was removing the right branches/trees. He is a very pleasant, polite guy. He is coming back to decorate my bathroom. I would definitely use him again.

One more recommendation for Steve from DG Services. He was prompt, polite and came in with a very reasonable quote. We had our decking jetwashed and restained, patio flagstones relaid and repointed and some unneccessary concrete "rope" edging from our front path removed, making good the resulting mess. A reliable, and conscientious guy that we would use again.

I wanted to endorse the recommendations for Steve of DG Services. Steve did an excellent job clearing a very overgrown garden at a house I'm selling. The property is empty but this was not a problem. Steve went and took a look, gave me an estimate and then collected keys from the estate agents, carried out the work and returned the keys. Steve kept me informed all the time (which was a relief), so I was very relaxed about the whole thing. The garden was transformed, all the debris was cleared and I am very pleased with the work. I found Steve to be very reliable and sensible, so that was refreshing. The price was very reasonable too.

Another recommendation for Steve here, he has completed two fantastic gardening jobs for us in the last six months and recently a paint job also. I have been very pleased with the high quality work, Steve is very professional and friendly and also very kind to my children. Steve is the first person I call when I have a job that needs doing.

Steve did an amazing job on our garden, he was quick and efficient and cleared our lawn of tough weeds and old lawn in no time at all. He was also really lovely with our 4-year old son, who kept him company for a lot of the time while he was working :) I highly recommend him!

I just wanted to add to this list, as Steve from DG Services once again made our garden look amazing. He found excellent quality turf for our garden and laid it all in a matter of hours after weeding/levelling the ground. He's an exceptionally hard worker and he does a brilliant job. I thoroughly recommend him!

Another recommendation from Steve at DG Services ? he is professional and helpful and came out multiple times to the site as we kept changing the brief. He also gave us the most competitive quotes, quickly and made numerous amends to quotes as the brief changed. Would definitely recommend.

    • I'm not in a bubble - if you read my post it says supportive of food bank info and community group info etc on the ED station board, where broad mix pass by when using train/bus/on foot. You're judging me but I can assure you I probably do FAR more for the local community than someone like you who simply posts something unhelpful in response to a conversation piece, asking for more opinions. Of course I know not everyone is middle class, I am working class worked up to middle class etc etc. I support various local groups, raise money for charity, give money to charity, give to foodbanks... the whole shebang. All I am saying is that there are ALSO other people who are interested in looking at the noticeboard for small business info around the area. Small businesses definitely need support and often make low profits and rely on advertising in places like these noticeboards. I'm entitled to an opinion and I am very honest, unlike some who want to say the right thing but if you question yourself what do YOU actually do for the good of others? Yes you may be Mother Teresa but my guess is... you aren't 😉 It is now fixed...
    • I think there is possibly a “broken windows syndrome” to these kind of boards: you know the idea that a broken window left untouched will give the impression that nobody cares, so encourages more vandalism? If boards are not maintained and the notices are way out of date it gives off that vibe. North Cross Road is a Southwark council licensed market, so does it not have a council employee in charge of it? Someone who arranges pitches and payments etc. If so, surely they would be the person to take responsibility? It only needs somebody to keep it clean and charge the posters regularly. Perhaps this can be suggested to the Goose Green councillors; it’s not my ward.
    • Exactly. I complained about them being broken for around 2 YEARS and they were repaired autumn (?) last year but only today when I emailed the councillor did he say he had "just received keys". I have no objection to a mix of community groups etc using the board but surely it should be open to all? Including local businesses, many of whom rely on word of mouth or boards like this - they don't often make much profit so it's great to support local business owners. It's not really my own interest as I am not a business owner... I am just reflecting what I would like to see - that I admit - as per my original post. p.s. the noticeboards I am talking about are empty - not used by anyone as the councillor has the key! Watch my words. They will be updated yearly if that and the info will go out of date. Last time the Northcross Rd one ended up with local councillor contact details, community centre contacts (useful I agree) and random flyers. Someone broke the glass and that was it for several years until I constantly emailed and James Barber - wonderful former councillor for the area - proactively supported, and we now have it fixed and a new one near ED station...
    • Voluntary organisations are probably not making use of the boards any more because of the state they are in. To the best of my knowledge a small number of people had keys originally, but I have no idea who has them now. I imagine it is going to take a fair amount of time to get all this properly up and running again, and then properly maintained.
