checkmeout
Ok so my baby is now 8 months old and I have got to the point where I really cannot bring myself to spend another 30 quid a week on coffee and cake - especially when so many coffees are not warm enough and the cake is dry.So I've decided to get a few mums together and have tea/coffee and cake at my place. I know this is random and it seems strange to invite strangers around for a afternoon. But this is the kinda crazy thing motherhood drives you too!If you fancy tea, cake and meeting some new mums. Drop me a mail and I'll arrange a date. JennyAnd just incase you think I'm crazy - check out my website, hopefully this will confirm I'm a normal mum who's a graphic designer not a nutcase.www.check-me-out.co.ukX Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18466-fed-up-with-spending-so-much-money-on-coffee-and-cake/ Share on other sites
Fuschia
Jenny, that's s DIY approach to the nct tea groupAnd I have made several friends from the edf via bilateral house invites - once you have crawling bBies or young toddlers a well baby proofed house is the most relaxing place! busymum
hi bee 74, maybe we could organise something for the 2 1/2 yr old toddler age group or thereabouts. My eldest is starting school very soon and I will have to entertain my two and a bit year old girl on my own (yikes!) she will really miss her big sister and playdates with big sisters friends. She only has a few 'friends' of her own, would be nice for her to meet some other 2 year olds and for me to meet some other Mums.Anyone up for a cup of tea and toys and biscuit crumbs everywhere get intouch Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18466-fed-up-with-spending-so-much-money-on-coffee-and-cake/#findComment-455815 Share on other sites
crystal7
Sorry to hijack your post checkmeout but I would be interested in doing something similar with a group of toddlers too. I'll be on maternity leave from the end of Sept and need to keep my 2.5 year old entertained! We would love to meet new friends (and meet up with existing ones- hi bee74!). bee74
Hello busymum, littlemissindulgence and crystal7 (I guess i know you but don't recognise your name)I am happy to meet in the afternoons, which tend to be a bit of a dull affair... too late to go anywhere exciting, everything has happened already and there is not much time before dinner.Otherwise our mornings are normally quite busy except for Tuesdays. Let me know what suit you.Bee Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18466-fed-up-with-spending-so-much-money-on-coffee-and-cake/#findComment-456011 Share on other sites
SilvesterRhodes
Hello Checkmeout and the other mums!Hope this isn't hijacking this thread but I wonder if anyone would be interested in this: My sister won an online competition to have a dietician (sponsored by SMA baby formula but I'm sure a professional dietician has to be impartial and talk about 'food' right?) come to my home to ask questions from Mums about weaning and nutrition for babies/toddlers. I'm about to start maternity leave with my first baby and hope to have the dietician come sometime before the beginning of Aug, prob an afternon. I'm happy to have Mums (including babies+toddlers) round to glean info from the dietician. It occured to me that weaning can be a tricky time if little one fussy or has allergies.Aparently they bring us a free lunch and throw in some freebies too though I've no idea what, its my sister that's the competition addict, I just benefit from her winnings sometimes!!Do send me a PM if you're interested and I'll be in touch once they've let me have some possible dates.Elizabeth Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18466-fed-up-with-spending-so-much-money-on-coffee-and-cake/#findComment-456066 Share on other sites
