DadOf4
Hi allI thought I'd take a few minutes to tell people about what, in my opinion, is a local institution - Tigersharks http://www.tigersharksswimmingclub.co.uk/Both of my kids learnt to swim with tigersharks and they managed to get me back in the pool after nearly 30 years. The club is run like any other swmimming club, but with the exception that it doesn't have a competitive team - so theres no pressure to train 6 times per week ! - its open to both kids and adults I swim twice a week (Monday & Thurs 8-9pm), the coach Kris is an ex-national swimmer. It is a solid 60 minute workout. The people in that timeslot mainly teenagers, adults people who used to swim competitively when they were younger (like me) or people who just want to improve their swimming. Quite a few people use tigersharks to train for triathlonsThe earlier sessions (7-8pm) is mainly kids, from beginners upwards. There are weekend sessions too.I have no connection to the club (other than swimming there) - but they have been struggling for numbers recently. Hoping that a few people here can give it a go and realise what an amazing way of keeping fit it is - and that they can take their kids to swimming lessons AND keep fit themselves at the same timeIts based at Alleyns. Just turn up at one of the above times
