Annette Curtain
David Aaronovitch says so.And I agree. I love the Guardian, I like the Telegraph, the Times I can do without. I despise the Mail.I just enjoy the "feel" of a newspaper. It holds a particular experience within its neat folded sheets, and a well read newspaper looks exhausted, it looks disheveled, ready to be binned or re-cycled. Personally I like all that & though I read on-line, I feel more immersed if I read it in a broadsheet. Is this nostalgia, or does the physical and emotional part matter too ?NETTE(?) DulwichFox
Actual numbers of newspapers sold Daily / Anually UK / globally are difficult to calculate as figure are changing and are huge. By 2007, there were 6580 daily newspapers in the world selling 395 million copies a day. By 2009 there were 12477 News papers world wide.. Almost every Newspaper will be read once then discarded. Some will be recycled. Some will be burnt. Some will end up buried in tips. Newspapers take up about 14 percent of landfill space This process cannot be allowed to continue. Recycling Newspaper is hazardous due to printing ink being Toxic. (Hence Chip shops cannot use them)Info Various sources. TreesAnd just how many trees does it take to make a newspaper? Well, it takes 75,000 trees to print one day?s circulation of the Sunday edition of the New York Times. Multiply that by the 52 Sundays in a year and that comes out to 3,900,000 trees. Think about that for a minute. It takes 3,900,000 trees to print a years worth of Sunday editions of the New York Times.source HereThat is just 1 news paper..Just think about it before buying a newspaper. Jeremy
I thought it was called a Millwall brick (presumably to be used against Chelsea supporters).I can't think why it would be more effective than punching someone, although I guess it wouldn't hurt your hand as much... Ted Max
Lays wreath for Curtain's thread.PH of arse is a question of determining whether arse is blue or pink, which are arse colours that can (externally) only be achieved by "white" people. Therefore I declare your question racist and I win the thread points.
