civilservant
I agree, prickle - and I'd add the people who leave their rubbish bags to fester outside bins and then blame foxes for tearing them open.I can't resist adding just one point - the BBC website refers to 'risks'. When I checked on the incidence of Weil's disease in this country, I found that the mortality rate is 2-3 people per year in England and Wales, and that the disease is rarely fatal... http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Leptospirosis-%28Weil%27s-Disease%29.htm. Compare this to the 2,284 deaths from road traffic accidents or the nearly 160,000 deaths from circulatory disease in 2009 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18372-rats-im-marmora-road/page/2/#findComment-455154 Share on other sites

petersen
Rats are horrible. I do agree that it should be a two fold action plan of prevention and cure. As we use poison the rats are evolving so their bodies can handle it. So in the long term do they think that just using more and more poison is the answer? i think not. The Minkey
When I was little more of a toddler, my dad came home from work one day to see me in the garden nursing my dolly all wrapped up tight in a blanket. It was only some time later, when he came out to call me in for tea, that he discovered the object of all my kisses wasn't dolly at all but a dead rat.
